So it was my dad's birthday today, and my mom bought him a set of shaving stuff. my dad likes to use a shaving brush, and while i was eating my piece of cake a question burst in my mind.

do you think a kabuki brush could be used instead ? i mean, the shape is very similar, and my dad likes his brush to be soft, so i was thinking of offering him a soft kabuki brush. that i can handle, i'm not an expert on shaving brushes, lol.

A kabuki brush sounds fine, as long as its soft. Have you considered if the bristles would be firm enough though? The men in my house don't use shaving brushes but I've seen them at barbers and they seem pretty firm looking, probably to better swipe off any excess hairs better.

I think so, but it seems like shaving brushes kinda bend more...because of the narrow base they have, while kabukis have a thicker base. Wow, I just saw one on Nordstorm for $250.

i know they also sell shaving brushes at Crown Brush
they're the supplier to companies such as coastal scents

I think that would be fine as long as the bristles could take the abuse of the cream.

I was wondering if they weren't the same thing... Get him the Kabuki and teach him how to care for it, lol! I think it should b fine.
