Re: Sunscreen in capsules

Im not sure sorry, seems like they don't really work on their own, just as boosters.

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

ummmmmmm gimmick. You need to topically apply your sunscreen to reap the full benefits.

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

A dermatologist I talked to said they are great for people who are very fair, have sun allergies etc, who are going on vacation to the Bahamas etc and just want extra protection in addition to wearing a high SPF sunscreen.
But for everybody else, they are not necessary. If anything, they may lead to thinking that you´re already protected and don´t need to be applying your suncreen, which is definitely a bad idea.

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

You need an actual physical barrier between your skin and the sun which would be a sunscreen. I think this would be more of a supplement to that protection but definitely not an alternative.

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

I would use those in addition to regular sunscreen, not in the place off. You need to use about a golf ball size amount of sunscreen on your body and re-apply every 2 hours (especially if you're sweating) in order for it to be effective.

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

What about for people who are allergic to sunscreen?

Last time we checked, my lil' brother (9yo) was allergic to sunscreen -- even water babies -- (he would break out in hives) and since then we never put sunscreen on him. Consequently he has gotten extremely dark seeing that he is a kid that plays outside. Would these pills help people with that kind of sensitivity?

Re: Sunscreen in capsules

I doubt they would do much, they'd help but they can't replace a sunscreen (technically they're supposed to prepare the skin and help tanning). Were you able to identify what ingredient causes the allergy ?
