Peasant Skirts
So I'm really starting to get out all my summer clothes now and I found a few of these skirts that were pretty trendy 1-2 summers ago. I think it looks nice on, however I'm not sure if this trend is a little outdated?
Haven't really seen people wearing these lately. I'm going on a little date by the lake tommorrow for lunch and such and was thinking about wearing this with a tank and flip flops. Any thoughts?
Its either that or jean capris and a tank. Hmmm suggestions anyone?

Re: Peasant Skirts
I live in Calgary, and i have seen a lot of girls here wearing peasant skirts, i was thinking about getting some for myself last time i went shopping but i couldn't find any, i really like them as well. I think wearing them with a tank top and flip flops is a good idea, i would wear them that way as well

Re: Peasant Skirts
I would still wear it! I think they look really nice with flip flops and tank tops.
I saw a girl wearing one the other day and it made me want to wear my old ones again

Re: Peasant Skirts
I think you can still wear it! I think when it comes to going to the lake/beach, those types of skirts will always work.
Besides, I highly doubt your date will be all "OMG...that's sooo two summers ago!" lol.

Re: Peasant Skirts
I don't mind them, I really liked them when they were in fashion, but I personally would feel a bit weird wearing mine since I haven't seen anyone wearing one for ages. But if you'd feel good in it then go for it.
The main reason I wouldn't wear mine is because I wouldn't feel confident in it. Clothing is all about the way it makes you feel so if you feel good in it, then wear it

Re: Peasant Skirts
I don't have mine anymore, I think I must have given them away when they went out of style, shame though, they were comfy, though I couldn't quite pull off that boho look!
I think you should wear what you want and what makes you feel comfortable, so if they do that for you, I say go for it!

Re: Peasant Skirts
Peasant skirts are a classic! They have been updated with beads, sequins, rhinestones and ombre fabric (the fabric where the colors go from light to dark etc). Hold on to those skirts...

Re: Peasant Skirts
SewAmazing has a good point - they are a classic. However...mix it up a little though imho.

Re: Peasant Skirts
I LOVE peasant skirts- but I love the bohemian/hippy thing anyway.
Some of the belly dance supply sites I frequent have nice skirts, but they are gypsy skirts as they are meant to totally flair out when spinning around so they are kinda voluminous-

Re: Peasant Skirts
I think they're perfect for any summer. Especially if you're going that beachy look with a tank top and flip flops.
