Age...
So I am almost 27 and I am wondering when I should start dressing like an adult, or do I have to? How old is it acceptable to dress young?
I am not wearing mini skirts and stuff daily. I basically wear jeans, flip flops and a rock t. Kinda basic. I rarely get dressed up, not required at my job so this is what I wear. I am addicted to anything with a skull on it. I also have my lip pierced, big fan of pre-meditated holes in my jeans, and tacky costume jewelry. lol. So where is the line where I have to ditch my comfy slightly lazy teenage style so I don't look to old trying to dress to young? What is appropriate dress attire of late twenties early thirties? How do you dress at this age? I don't want sweater sets and pearls...not ready for that yet. But my daughter gets mistaken for my sister Any tips on inbetween / middle of the road clothes?

Re: Age...
I think what you're wearing sounds fine for your age. If it's appropriate for your job and your lifestyle then I wouldn't ever change it, unless I wanted to or it no longer suited the way I lived.
I think it does start to look a bit 'lame' after maybe mid 40s to 50s, but that's just me. If you like it, then go for it I say! (by that I mean, band tshirts etc can start to look like you're trying to hard to be young - I'd just swap it for a plain tshirt)

Re: Age...
I agree with Rosie, i still don't dress like people think i should, due to my age, im 31, but honestly, to me age has always been just a number, there is no law, or anything like that, that states or forces you to dress in a certain way, you should dress the way that makes you feel more comfortable, not dress for the rest, society gets to dictate everything nowadays, i think that you should be free to dress however you want, it doesnt hurt anybody, and if your daughter gets mistaken for your sister, i don't see anything wrong with that, you are and look young and there is nothing wrong with that.
people always thought my oldest son was my lil brother, but i had no problem with that, i didnt care what they thought, it was just a reflection of how young i looked i guess, and there is no shame on that.

Re: Age...
I think what you're wearing is fine. Even if I was 50 I couldn't wear the "mom" jeans lol

Re: Age...
I'm walking in your shoes. I know exactly what you mean, but sometimes I feel fashion impaired compared to the trendy styles that I adore on others. I just don't "feel right" in them.
I'm not sure you're quite in the same boat. Instead of the well fitted perfectly flattering (not loose, but not too tight) jeans and a fitted tee with heels and accessories, I wear bootleg jeans that almost flatter me with a a fitted tee and my favorite flip flops....no belt, matching purse but nothing fancy, no jewelry, no other accessories.
When I frequented MUT (lived here rather), I participated in the MUT OOTD (Outfit of the Day). I'm not sure they still do that regularly. However, it helped motivate me to add a bit of flair or change things up to my normal wardrobe while still keeping my personal sense of style (or lack thereof), which would be P.J.'s 24/7 if I could.

Re: Age...
I think you should wear whatever makes YOU comfortable. If you wanna age up the look with some style, add a scarf. Scarves add a stylish sophistication to any look. so you can keep the same look and add a small detail
