Comfy Shoes Help!

I just started working at B&BW and stupid me, I wore my knee-high high-heel black clubbing boots. After 6hours of standing I could barely walk--actually I'm lying down right now and my feet still hurt. I was just wondering if there were any good recommendations for comforable shoes out there? I'm going shopping tomorrow and Thursday.

Oh god girl, I feel your pain! You'll get retail feet soon enough. I actually wear flip flops from the parking garage to work, then change into my work shoes and then put the flip flops back on at the end of the day. haha!

I just bought a pair of Brass Plum clogs which are pretty comfy. And I'm still breaking into my boots, sigh. If anyone else has suggestions, pass 'em on!

Re: Comfy Shoes Help!!!

you can get some gel inserts for your shoes.

umm. try looking for shoes that have rubber soles. i can't think of the brand that have a line specifically like that. but i just checked, and it wasn't it.

Re: Comfy Shoes Help!!!

I usually find that low heels are comfortable for a day of walking through the mall... the last time I had a job that required me to be on my feet all day was in high school and I could wear tennis shoes Last season I bought a pair of awesome knee-high black boots from Payless, they had a slightly narrow heel (but wide enough for me to walk in, I can't wear stilletos!) that was only about an inch high, and a slightly narrow (but not truly pointy) toe that didn't look too chunky. I have no idea if they have a similar pair this season though! I also have a few dress shoes (ie, things you can wear with skirts or suits) that also have a slighty narrow, low heel -- comfy but still grown-up and sophisticated, and not chunky But again, most of them are a year or two old... But my point is, if you look hard enough you can find such shoes -- though I'll admit it's a little hard!

PS: I also agree that wedges, especially ones that aren't super high, can also be fairly comfy if that's a style you like!

Re: Comfy Shoes Help!!!

Here a few examples I found at www.shoes.com .... I don't actually own any of these though, and these may have a slightly higher heel than my shoes that I was talking about, but just for an idea..

I couldn't find many good boots, all the low-heeled ones had a chunky heel that made them look like a men's biker boot or something...

And of course, loafers are usually comfy if you like them!

Re: Comfy Shoes Help!!!

What about a nice pair of Dr Scholls? I have a red leather pair with a heel and they look sexy and are comfy. You can buy them with a heel or as flats ad they are supposed to be good for your feet.

Re: Comfy Shoes Help!!!

Hush Puppies are the most comfortable shoes out there. A close second is Easy Spirit. Then, Naturalizer and Aerosoles are comfortable, also. Check out their websites, you'll be surprised how cute some of them are. If you're going to be on your feet all day, choose flats until you get accustomed to standing for hours at a time.
