Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

I have an online clothing store and I have a no refund or exchange policy because of the complexities that go along with it.

I would like to know if retail return policies have a impact on your decision to make a purchase. All of my items are under $30, but I want your opinions so I can no what other people think about it.

I know there are many places out there like the 15 dollar store and ebay sellers who still prosper in spite of their no refund policies.

Your feedback is appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

I don't really come across it online, but there is a store in town that has a TON of cute stuff but you can't refund, only exchange. I bought something elsewhere instead, I just didn't want to deal w/ it.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

this one is tough. To be honest I would be wary with an online seller. In person you can see the item and most times I'll decide whether I like it and will have no intention of returning it unless it breaks or whatever.

In Australia I think you have to offer a return policy.

It would turn me off more from an online store than from a street store, but probably not enough to avoid buying there if I really liked something they were selling. And since your stuff is not too expensive I probably wouldn't be super bothered..

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

In person, I despise shopping at a store that doesn't accept returns or only exchanges or even those with a horrible return policy (such as Worst Buy err, Best Buy). As a matter of fact, I try to avoid them at all costs.

On ebay, that's another matter because I don't buy on a whim there-- I know what I want and ask everything I need to know before I even think about bidding.

Also, when I shop online, I *try* to be pretty decisive because, shipping back and forth kills the deals I get.

If you are a B&M (brick and mortar) store and you don't ever accept refunds, I'd never shop with you.

Hope that helps!

Warmly,

Brandi

i don't shop at stores, on-line or other wise, that don't have return/exchange policies. i know it must be a pain for you, though.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

Honestly, I try to avoid stores with no return/exchange policies. I almost never return items (Maybe 1 percent of the clothing items I buy get returned). I still like having the option to return/exchange just in case.

It's worse with online stores, though...because I've been sent the wrong item before. Also, clothing sizes vary greatly between brands. If the customer can't try them on or even see them before he or she pays for them, chances of getting a good fit are very small.

I refuse to shop, online or in store businesses that refuse returns because IMHO, that says alot about the company.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

I was going to say that I do that all the time....but not with online shopping unless if its accessories or something like that, but with clothes it's been really hard, I have bought things and exhanged them online numerous times because I have found it doesn't fit well or the color looks different than the pic. I think you should at least do an exhange, that would help I think.

I agree that shopping for clothes online is a toughie especially with a no return policy but you should be ok with an exchange policy that is well placed in sight.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

Do stores have a no return policy? I know that they do on items that are for sale but I think most stores have some sort of policy.

I think you are limiting yourself and your potential customers by not offering this service.

Re: Do you shop at places with no refund policies?

Over here, I'll say 99 percent of stores are no refund. Actually, I can only think of one departmental store that gives refunds, and that's the only one, no other shops or shopping centre does it other than them. When I was holidaying in Canada, it was my first time experiencing refunds in shops, but I did buy from shops there that had no refund policies too. It was this shop that sells lots of cute stuff and I just couldn't resist picking something up as a gift even though it had a no refund policy.

I'd be hesitant to shop online somewhere with no return policy since I'm unable to try it on and see it in person; I'd be fine with it at a non-online store though.

I never buy from online stores that don't have a refund policy because sizes/colors may differ.

An online store with no refund policy? No no no...

For the same reasons that Melody stated. It differs when you get the actual product.
