Full Bloom: The Spring Floral Trend

This season, say it with flowers. Adornments and prints that is. Designers decorated their spring collections with a garden variety of 3-D rosettes and sweet floral patterns on just about everything from accessories to dresses and jackets this year. This girly trend has even influenced the beauty world by causing an explosion of pretty pinks and cotton candy hues for lips, cheeks and nails in the stores. Here are some of our top picks.

Petal-Pushing Pumps

Whether you opt for flat sandals or sky-high stilettos, rosette-adorned shoes are the easiest way to get in on this girly trend. Mix them into an already feminine ensemble of a swingy skirt and ruffle top, or simply soften a streamlined look of trousers and button-down shirt. These Dolce & Gabbana black and peach satin sandals ($536) will add a breath of fresh air to anything you put on.

Frothy Tops

Although we've seen pretty prints before, rosette-emblazoned separates are entirely new to the style scene. A delicate floral top is the perfect item to capture the frothy feeling of the season, especially if you don't feel like going floral from head to toe. Pair this weightless tank with floral detail by Rebecca Taylor ($212) with clean and conservative pieces like a pencil skirt or wide-leg pants to keep things uncomplicated for both daytime and evening ensembles

Pretty Pouts

The budding floral trend is perfectly matched with fresh shades of pink lipstick this season. The best lip looks are in delightful displays of rose, fuchsia and ballet-slipper pink. We love the mouthwatering Paul & Joe Beaute spring edition of lipsticks packaged in petty floral cases ($20). And get this -- each lipstick in the collection is blended with natural flower extracts to condition and moisturize. Talk about flower power.

Flowery Frocks

Nothing says feminine like a floral dress. And whether you opt for a full-blown bloom or a subtle and sweet print, it will certainly become your spring staple. This empire style chiffon dress by Max Studio ($268) is the ultimate in day-to-date dressing. Pair it with seriously killer heels to add edge or sport flat sandals (and a perfect pedicure) with it for a more casual look. Either way, top things off with a swingy cropped jacket for an up-to-the-minute look.

Jeweled Blooms

Jeweled blooms are the adornments du jour. Printed bangles and flower-shaped accessories can add a feminine flair to a tailored outfit, or they can complement an already girly ensemble. Flaunt your passion for pretty petals this season with this oversized enamel flower ring by Kenneth Jay Lane ($85).

Re: Full Bloom: The Spring Floral Trend

I think the only "floral" trend I'll go along with is makeup colors. Thanks for posting!

I like everything but the shoes. I'm a floral kinda gal, so I'm glad to see that florals are hot this season.

I think I'll pass, I dont like too much flowery stuff in clothes.

I guess it all depends on the dress

Re: Full Bloom: The Spring Floral Trend

I like it all but the pair of heels. Its pretty but its not that pretty when you tried it on. I've tried on a pair and it looks sort of funny just cause the flower looks bigger than your foot.

Re: Full Bloom: The Spring Floral Trend

I like florals, but I don't like those oversized rosettes on the shoes and shirt. It always seems to me like it's a bunch of frou-frou excess on an item of clothing that would otherwise be very pretty.
