Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
Just wondering how much everyone would pay for a bag, shoes, belt, sunglasses, clothes, jewellery from there favorite brand? And wat brand would you buy knockd-off if you did???
(so state the brand, item and howmuch compared with the e authentic products price - if you can)

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.................
There's a post on here in the Accessories Subforum on that. Most girls on the site who posted didn't care for knock-offs and wouldn't buy them. I admit I've bought replica Tiffany before though...

I think knockoff's are ok..I have a pair of DG knock off sunglasses...I love them!! That's it though...I don't like fake bags because they seem tacky to me. I'd much rather have the real thing, but hey, they're great for people that still want to be style and can't afford the real deal.

If I couldn't afford the real thing, I wouldn't buy a fake, I'd rather spend the 20 bucks on guess or tommy hilfiger from TJ Maxx in lieu of a cheap copy of a designer brand. Did that make sense?

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
i've bought a knock off when i was younger before but i've learned that their quality is sh*t! i only buy authentic now. if i don't have the money to buy it, i rather not buy it at all.

I agree. If I do not have the money to buy the real deal, I would rather not at all. I prefer to buy no namers for less if anything...like Target or street vendors who make their own bags. That is the cool thing about NYC, you dont have to spend a fortune on real designers to look fashionable.

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
I almost always buy items that you can't tell what brand they are by looking at them! I don't want to buy name brand items or knock-offs! I don't want people to think I'm stuck-up by wearing a name brand item, and I don't want people to think I'm cheap by wearing a knock-off! When people look at my clothes and accessories, I want them to think, "Wow, those clothes look great on her" or "That purse matches her outfit perfectly", etc., not "Oh, she must be rich, look at that brand name", "Who is she trying to impress?", or "She must be cheap or poor, look at that knock-off!"
Now maybe I'm just too cynical and maybe not everyone thinks those negative things about brand names, but I'll admit, I tend to think those things when I see other girls with brand names! :

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
i think if you really like it, but can't afford the real thing...it's fine. i mean, what can you do? not everyone can spend that much money on a purse or shoes.
personally, i don't like them and i'd never buy them.

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
Some knockoffs really look like the real deal, and the real deal look like knock offs..so what's the point? Maybe i'm just too much of a skeptic, but when i see some girl carrying an LV bag for instance, I assume its a knock off. Ok I dont think i'm making any sense....

I agree. I'd rather save up for a $300.00 Furla Bag, or just go to Target or Macy's where they have some really cute purses. Just because It's a name brand, doesn't mean it even looks good. I don't care for designer purses with the designer's initals all over them. I would only spend the 300 bucks on the Furla Bag because it is so dang gorgeous and I fell in love with it. You can't even see the brand name Furla unless you look really hard and even then it is embossed in the leather. But I honestly don't know if I could tell the difference between a knock-off brand and not. I don't really pay that much attention to other people's purses. I don't scrutinize them that carefully and think/wonder...hmmm..is that a Real Designer Bag? Or a Cheap Imitation? Or A Bag from Target? or a..Knock-off!!?? I do, however notice people's watches. I would say, either save up for the real Mc Coy or make that trip to Target.

Really?? Man, I must be naive or something. That never occured to me. I always just think...I guess they must have a lot of money to spend on that bag!

I think as long as you buy purely for the style, i just can't stand it when people tell everyone that its real and try to show off!

Re: Just Curious on your thougth about Knock-off brands.
Knock off brands are a great buy. Why spend hundreds of dollars on a DKNY purse when you can buy a fake one on the streets of NYC for $20.00 Also, when you have a knock off, no one really knows. And if you destroy it, as I have in the past, you don't feel so bad.
