Hey everyone!
I am going to a wedding next weekend and want to wear this really nice black Banana Repulic skirt. Problem is the skirt has faded a bit from repeat washing and its not looking like its in tip top shape. I was thinking about grabbing some black clothing dye and using that to see if I can refresh the black coloring. I have never done this before? I don't want to ruin the skirt. Have any of you guys ever done this? I figure I'm dying a black skirt black- what can go wrong? But wanted some imput first... thanks!

I've done it before! Quite a few times, actually! lol!

The only time I've had a problem was with a jacket. Apparently it had been treated so it would be waterproof, and I didn't know that. So the dye didn't work so well.

But for a black skirt, it should be fine. I've done both skirts and dresses.

thanks I bought the dye and I plan to do it tommorrow! did you use a specific type of dye? I just bought some cheap brand

I got mine at the grocery store! lol. It was cheap and worked great!

I've used Dylon fabric dyes and it worked quite well. I hope yours turns out great!

Now that you mention dying clothes, I have this red skirt that looks so good on me, great cut and everything, but I got it from a friend, and unfortunatly its a pretty bright red and its mini so its hard to wear. Do you think black dye would work on it??
