Skinny jeans..
What do you guys think of skinny jeans for girls with a big butt??
I have a curvy figure - (UK) size 8 waist and a size 12 butt with quite large thighs. Can curvy girls pull these off? I will be wearing them with boots but they are quite tight round my butt! will they make me look huge?!

Re: Skinny jeans..
I think it would be hard to pull off but maybe it could be done... pants can still be fitted in the hips but straight legs are usually the most flattering shape for curvy figures since they create a long, vertical line that gives you the illusion of being slimmer (or so I've heard on all the makeover shows on TV -- I have the opposite problems, my hips are 3 sizes smaller than my waist! lol). But skinny or tapered-leg pants give you an "ice-cream cone" shape because the widest part of your body is your hips and you get steadily narrower as you go down to the ankles! Most girls don't want to emphasize their hips and bottom like that
Mid-rise pants are also usually the most flattering for everyone -- high waists make your bottom look bigger and give you tummy rolls under the waist of the pants, while low rise pants are a very young look and give you tummy rolls above the pants (and may show your underwear in the back which I think is gross). But mid-rise jeans give you enough coverage and the least amount of tummy rolls, if you have that problem
I personally don't really like skinny jeans on anyone -- I have a slender figure (but with a slight tummy roll which is why I like mid-rise pants!) but I still like straight-leg and bootcuts the best

Re: Skinny jeans..
I wouldn't recommend skinny jeans, they'll only accentuate any tummy or butt. I think only really lean gals can pull 'em off.

yeayea likee skinny ppl look the best in skinny jeans. Since they're basically skin tight, they accentuate whatever figure you have.

Re: Skinny jeans..
i don't know...i totally disagree. i wear a size eight (i'm 5'9") and have the same issue as you nessicle (smaller waist), hourglassy shape. i wear skinny jeans, and yeah, they hug back there, but i say if you got it, flaunt it! there's nothing wrong with having a shape!

Re: Skinny jeans..
I am a size US6 but I wear like US8 instead because I didn't like the tight jeans around my butt& thighs so I wear one size bigger.

Re: Skinny jeans..
i dont think they were meant for curvy girls. you basically have to have stick legs and look like you just came off the catwalk to pull them off.

Re: Skinny jeans..
Yeah skinny jeans are hard to pull off, I saw a pair of really cute jeans at the mall, didn't realize they were skinny, when I tried them on, I was like what is going on this does not look good. Maybe b/c I haven't ever seen myself in skinny jeans since I was like 10. Maybe I will try a different pair one of these days.

Re: Skinny jeans..
Depends on the skinny jeans. If they're just fit, but not those one that seems to be glued on your skin, and if they're not tapered on the leg they can work really well. But if it's one that "glues" on your skin, only if you have no butt or wide thighs , otherwise it would look really ugly. If you people saw some of the jeans that are sold here you would be afraid...

Hey, a size 8 and 5'9" doesn't sound large to me, and since you say you are curvy, I bet you have a great figure! I am 5'5" and a size 4 (or so), and I would love to gain some weight so I could have some curves!

5'5" and a size 4 sounds like a good size too! i'm sure you'd have no problem pulling off the skinny jeans look! i wonder what is going to happen to this trend once spring comes around...
