Uncomfortable Shoes....

I was on the search for a comfortable pair of shoes to wear to work. My aunt, a business woman who is constantly on her feet, recommend that I buy a pair of loafers that she wears daily. I love the loafers, and they're incredibly cute; however, they rub my heel and become incredibly uncomfortable. I bought the right size, the 1/2 size lower was too small, the 1/2 size higher were too big.
Anyway, I hope this makes sense--the heel of the shoe is V-shaped (instead of U-shaped like most shoes). Is there any way to "stretch out" the heel part so that it's not so narrow? (see picture below.... see how the heel is shaped like a V?)

(These aren't the shoes, but it's the closest thing I could find to explaining the V vs. U heel.)

I thought I could just wear them in, but it's too painful.
Thanks!

Re: Uncomfortable Shoes....

you could try taking them to a cobbler(?) or a place that fixes shoes to stretch them out.

Re: Uncomfortable Shoes....

I know in some stores like walmart they carry shoe streches that stretch shoes both horizontally and vertically. You just have to crank the device and leave them in there for 24-48 hours

Re: Uncomfortable Shoes....

I know that Nordstrom stretches shoes as well.

I recently bought a pair of clogs that are cute & super comfy for work.

Thanks! I'll see if I can do it with one of those shoe stretchers. Thanks again for all the help!

Re: Uncomfortable Shoes....

I had problems with some very expensive boots, but they wouldn't fit on the stretching machine at the cobblers. Instead they sold me some spray that you put on your shoes that allows the leather to stretch. You use the spray on the inside and outside of the place that your shoe is pinching you, then wear them for 30 mins (but you have to walk about in them). The spray is made by Kiwi, I'm not sure if you have them in the States. It sorted out my boots and I can use it on suede as well.

Hmmmm... sounds promising! I'll have to see if I can find it here.

I don't have a dress code at work (I'm a full-time instructor at a university), but since I'm so close in age to my students, I prefer to dress up. I also just enjoy dressing up; it makes me feel good about myself. Also, a few times I dressed down, and I looked about 18!

lol, I am the same way, I am a graduate teaching assistant and even though I don't know of any other TA's that dress up, I dress up so I will actually look older than my students! That way they can at least respect me for the first few weeks -- they tend to lose all respect of us after we release the first exam grades anyway, lol
