Walking in heels advice!!!
Ladies I need your advice. I just bought 2 pairs of heels today to help build up my leg muscles. I need a good lesson on how to wear them all day or for when you go out. I know how to walk its just my feet hurt. Do I have to get used to them and then everything will be ok? I need some help. I only wore them for half an hour and my feet hurt so bad. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
my girlfriend is having the same problems as you. first off, make sure it's the right size shoe. some heels are definitely more comfortable than others. maybe start off with a low heel and wear that until you get used to it before you move onto a higher one.
lastly, i've been seeing these insoles you can put in heels that keep your feet from sliding all the way forward in the shoe and helps keep the toes from getting smushed in the front. anybody have experience with these that we can share with our young friend?

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Wear them as much as you can at home so you can get used to them but some brands /styles are more comfortable. I would go buy the most comfortable pair you can find til you get used to heels then you can buy the oh my gosh my feet are killing me but these heels are smoking hot ones

Also, try to walk juggling a book on your head - in order to it not to fall , you have to stay completely straight - it'll help you improve your posture when walking on heels

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Practice around the house *and* make sure you start off with a heel no higher than 1.5-2 inches. Then when you are confident in those you can go up to higher heels. Don't try to start off in 3.5" pointy-toe stilletos - you'll be asking for trouble (and a very embarassing moment).

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Are your heels non-leather? PVC shoes are just not comfortable imo. I always buy leather heels. Are they new and need to be broken in? You could wear them for 50 or 20 minutes per day every day until they are comfortable enough for wearing a full day.
ETA: I meant 15 or 20 minutes.

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Some heels will remain uncomfortable, no matter how much you try to break them in. I have found leather heels are really the best and more comfy. I don't think it would hurt to do some leg exercises at the gym to help build up calf muscles.

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Yea they are new. I bought em yesterday. I think the heel is 2 inch. The pair I need to return I found I walk better in because the heel is a lil thicker then my other ones. I think I'm going to just walk around the house until I can get used to them. I'll try and find a pic of what they look like.

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
Some heels are more comphy than others, leather is best and try not to go with something too narrow and pointy to start. There are heels that seem to fit my feet better than others, and breaking them in around the house is a good idea as it does help. I recently bought a pair of shoes stretchers to help break in new shoes. I refuse to wear any shoe that kills my feet, I end up selling them on ebay if they do.

Re: Walking in heels advice!!!
1. buy a shoes with at least a little platform. it helps if the balls of your feet have some protection.
2. invest in shoe pads. the disposable kind are great. i buy 2 kinds - the one that protect the ball of the foot, and those that run from the ball to the heel. the first kind are great for thin soled shoes and the second kind are great for peep toe pumps. the do a great job of keeping your feet from sliding.
3. don't go higher than is comfortable. if you can't keep the shoes on all day then they're too high! you can always work your way up, but comfortable is always best!

Yeah no matter how hard I break some of my heels in, they will never be comfortable.
I would start with a small heel and work your way up. I would also try to find a pair that won't hurt your feet, it makes a huge difference. There are lots of high heels out there that hurt your feet, you just need to find the right ones.
