What a good gift?

I am going to a party this weekend and I want to know what is a good gift to give. I was thinking about a shirt or something. It can't be too expensive (I just graduated college and don't have a job yet). It's a girl in her 20's.

Re: What a good gift?

I guess you want to give her a fashion related gift? Well, you could get her a pair of earrings or bracelet, candles, dvd, body sprays, bath sets, gift certificates..

Re: What a good gift?

I'd steer away from clothes/accessories unless you know the person really well (especially if you buy the wrong size). Especially if the person is in their 20s, they probably like shopping for themselves. I'd suggest something for the home, such as philosophy hand-soaps (they have a new one called hot toddies) , a nice hand lotion (try bath and body works), a picture frame, a learn-to-knit kit, a cute magnet set for the fridge. If you want to get an accessory, a beach tote could be nice (but go for solid instead of printed). I'm sure Loop NYC, fred flare, or plum party websites would have some cute ideas, too.

Re: What a good gift?

I'd say maybe get her a gift card to sephora or some place like that. You can also buy her a makeup palette, POP beauty has a really nice one that has shades specific to eye color. And the case is super cute. I gave one to a friend for her birthday and she loved it.

Re: What a good gift?

I agree with the gift card, but make sure it's at a store she stops at. If she's a close friend, and you already know her fashion taste, then some accessories wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Re: What a good gift?

My mom is like the queen of giving bath and body works gift sets - but she doesn't buy the pre-made ones in the store. Whenever they have their big sales, she stocks up on like 5 different scents in all different products, and then she makes her own little gift baskets/bags, etc. You'd never know they weren't store-bought. I would definitely stay away from clothes. I hate getting clothes unless I have picked them out. I think the only person I would 100% trust buying me clothes would be my very very bestest.
