Would you return something....
if they won't adjust for a coupon? i purchased some work clothes and when i got home i discovered i had a coupon for $50 off! i called the store and found out that the coupon had to be presented at the time of purchase only. now i'm thinking about returning everything and repurchasing to get the $50. i love everything i bought and wonder if it's worth the hassle. i know that the store is going to give me drama. i just wanted to know what you ladies think? please chime in!

Re: Would you return something....
Go for it, I've done it. It all depends on the cost of travel--deduction from the $50. Be aware that many stores know that people do this, so they've put into place a policy that if you return it, you cannot purchase until it has been re-stocked, this can be hours away. Hecht's/Macys managers will sometimes enforce this. They have a big problem with people continusously returning items and rolling them over with coupons.

You could always try it. I've never personally done it. Maybe if nothing else, you can do another haul to get the $50 off

Re: Would you return something....
Some stores will give you a price adjustment if you forget your coupon. I had a $5.00 off coupon at a grocery store and forgot to bring it. When I got home, I called the store manager and they told me to come back and they gave me $5.00 back (I paid for my groceries in cash, so it wasn't a problem). I'd try calling the store manager first before hauling everything back and finding out you didn't need to.

Re: Would you return something....
I'd try going in with the stuff and the coupon and ask for just the $50 if not tell them what you plan to do and maybe they save you the hassle........if not for sure I'd return it all and rebuy...............more of a hassle for them so maybe they'll give in.
If they don't do it.......I'd keep the stuff you already have and go around the store and get the exact same stuff and at the same time you purchase the new stuff, return the old!!!!
Good luck!!

Re: Would you return something....
can't you just return one or two of the items and then rebuy those with 50$ off?
i don't know how much you bought but if it's a lot, it will save you dragging all your new clothes in..
If it was a percentage off everything rather than the 50 dollars that would be a different story

Hey if the store were near me and i wouldn't have to drive a long way, I think 50 bucks is worth a try.

Re: Would you return something....
Same thing happened to me. I purchased a dress at Lord&Taylor and found out I had a 15% off coupon at home. I went back to the store the next day and they were happy to adjust the price for me.

I agree! Maybe just save it for a later time (as long as it doesn't expire soon). You wouldn't want to run that chance that they cause you grief about it - because some places are like that - even though you rightfully have the coupon!

Re: Would you return something....
ladies, thanks so much for your input, but i decided to skip the drama and keep everything. i did get city cash that i can use nov 3-5, so i'll just take my lumps on this one. it took me awhile to get over it, but i'm sure that won't stop me from going back! lmao
