Re: Yeah thrift store
I love thrift stores - I got a gorgeous pair of wicker (wierd I know) earings which were basically woven from orange purple and green strands of said material into a kind of treble clef 3D shape - so cute!!! less than a pound!!! even cuter!!!

Re: Yeah thrift store
St. Vincent De Paul is one of my favorite thrift shops! I live in PA and they have the best furniture. I like to cover chairs and such and make window treatments and bedding accessories (shams, dust ruffles, duvet covers) to match. They also have albums (remember those?) for .10 each. That would be an interesting den (all the covers placed all over the walls) for a true music lover...

Omg, I am a thrift store whore!
My husband works while I stay at home with the little babe, so I have learned to make each dollar count. I love fashion and shopping but most of the time even sale prices are to $$ for our budget, so I generally stick to clearance items at the mall, or thrifts stores. My fave it Goodwill, I've found so many things new w/tags still on them and my family is amazed at the things I've found. Thrifts rock!

Hi:
Look in the phone book around Pinellas Park. I believe there are thift stores around there, plus a big flea market on weekends. I visited there and someone took me to them. It is not that far from Tampa.

I envy you as you sound like a very talented person. I would love to be able to sew like you do. I am sure your finished products are beautiful.

Re: Yeah thrift store
There are tons of thrifts in the Tampa Bay area, I live in the Pinellas county part and we have at least 20 thrifts locally. Check Goodwill, Salvation Army, Hospice, Kimberly Home, St, Vincent De Paul, UPARC, and local church thrift shops. I would suggest you get a phone book and look up used clothing shops, thrift shops, secondhand shops. We do have a ton of well dressed (sometimes older) folks around here and I'm sure they donate their stuff somewhere. I don't know if the Junior League still has the super sale at the convention center, but if they do, you should try going there its usually a mob scene but they have some great buys. I won't travel across the pond to Tampa much anymore because I hate the drive. I used to do it daily for work and it kinda killed the thrill of going there for me.
