Updated rules for the List your Items For Sale Forum

The biggest change to this forum as of Jan 15, 2007 is that if you are an online business(vendors/distributors/hobbyists) and you make or manufacture items that you sold here in the past, you will, unfortunately, no longer be able to sell in this forum, We now have a few new locations on the boards for online businesses/vendors/distributors/hobbyists to promote/sell their items/websites/online businesses. Visit the Member Market Place, Businesses/vendors/distributor/hobbyists will be pleasantly surprised with what we now have to offer!

What's Allowed:

• Selling your new and used items(non businesses/vendors/distributor/hobbyists)
• Selling Beauty Products that you do NOT distribute
• Selling items as in new or used items that you do not actively work as a business. In other words, if you are a vendor/distributor/hobbyist and make money selling products that you are vendor/distributor/hobbyist for, you cannot sell here. You will need to use our other sections located here. If you are businesses/vendors/distributor/hobbyists, I think you will be excited to see what we have to offer now for businesses.
  • Example #1: If you sell NEW makeup/skin care products that you no longer need anymore or don't like, and you only sell from time to time, that is OK to sell in this forum.
  • Example #2: If you sell USED items, that is OK to sell in this forum.
  • Example #3: If you sell NEW clothing items that you acquired from someone that you didn't make yourself, OK to sell in this forum.

What's Not Allowed:

• Selling items that are considered to be businesses/vendors/distributor/hobbyists items
  • Example #1: If you are an Mary Kay, Mark, Arbonne, Avon, the Body Shop, BeautiControl, NuSkin, Oxyfresh, Amway, Oriflame distributor(or any other beauty product distributor), you cannot sell items in this forum. (Product Distributor's Forum)
  • Example #2: If you make your own clothing items and sell them actively, you cannot sell in this forum. (NON-Beauty Products Sellers here)
  • Example #3: If you make your own soaps/skin care items, you cannot sell in this forums. (Sell you Custom Beauty Products)
  • Example #4: If you regularly sell(or RE-SELL) NEW beauty products online or on eBay, that is NOT allowed anymore in in this forum. You will need to use the member market place.

• No EBAY hyperlinks, hyperlinks back to any websites other than MUT
  • List Your EBAY Auctions here
• No items for sale with out prices
• No selling items on behalf of friends or family
• No Email addresses in threads or posts
• No Links to Websites

Watermark your images!

Please watermark your images so others cannot steal them and use them as their own. You can watermark your images using a photo editing program or else you can simply upload your photos to MakeupTalk's Picture Gallery!

Post the Price!

When you sell an item, please always post prices.

In order to prevent spamming and shilling, Users need to have completed 30 regular (non sale) message board posts/replies before posting items for sale in this forum.

As a seller or a buyer of items listed in this forum you take full responsibility for your transactions. We here at MakeupTalk.com cannot monitor all of the items listed in this forum. Participants are solely responsible in the SELLING and/or BUYING process in which they partake. As a participant on this forum, you are agreeing to abide by all the common sense rules/regulations located here.

Editing after the Sale
When you sell an item that you have listed, can you please edit your thread and delete that item from your post just so people will know what's still for sale. IF for some reason you are unable to edit, please let a Forum Moderator know and it will be done for you.

One "For Sale" post per member

If you have some additional items that you would like to sale and you already have a recent For Sale thread started, please add it to the current thread, do not start another one (either edit the first post or add another post, your choice). You do not have to dig up a, lets say, 2 month old thread unless you would like to do so.


Shipping/Receiving Items

Do ask for proof your item has been sent - a simple photo of the package with your address or a photo of the receipt of payment, etc.

Do purchase shipping insurance or registered mail.

As the sender, DO keep your receipts!



Respect

If you are posting a 'for sale' item(s), avoid posts that are solicitous. This board is for messages rather than for online stores or pyramid schemes. For example, posts like this are not allowed: "Hi, COME TO MY WEBSITE HERE(link) AND SEE MY STUFF FOR SALE".

can we not sell used clothing/etc? I see people doing that here, but the direct quite says "NEW". If we cant sell used clothing, why is that? Thanks!
