Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

Child's Play and the Freddy Kroger series... they stayed in my dreams until I was about Jr. High age. Horrible little skanks. I'll watch it now and find them hilarious. Poltergeist scared the living crap out of me - I'm okay with watching it now but it still gives me the hibbity-jibbities.

A little bit older, I find the Shining just overall creepy. More than the Exorcist (which I laughed through the first time I saw it).

There was this movie, I think it's called the Gate, where little clay-looking monster came from Hell. And also this one movie, forgot the name, where voodoo puppets come to life. Oooo hated them!

Been a long time since I've seen Boggy Creek, but it does have some pretty scary parts. Like the girls having a slumber party and then bigfoot starts shaking the house and the girls can hear him in front of the door growling.

Gosh, I haven't seen "Labyrinth" since I was really little, I love that movie! My cousin is so scared of David Bowie, because of that movie LOL!

I forgot to mention that the flying monkeys from "The Wizard of Oz" use to to creep me out.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

The first movie to give me nightmares was The Wall...
The phallic carnivore flowers made me cry and my perverted cousin made me sit through it even though I didnt understand it.
And for some reason The Others has commercials on this one channel because it's going to play on it soon, and i can't watch the commercials. Crazy child-killing ghosts of another era who think they are being haunted freaks me out. I think its because i watched it alone late at night on HBO, that it has freaked me out.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

The movie that scared me the worst was Chucky, i swear, any stuffed toy still scares the crap outta me.

Oh yea, and Faces of Death. I know you're all thinking wtf but my dad got it from a friend and my mom put it up "hidden". Being a kid you know curiosity gets the best of you and i watched it with my brothers up way late at night (that's how bad we wanted to see what all the fuss was about). I was scared of the many ways of dying for years and years. What scared me the most was when they recorded a woman in profile view as she was electricuted to death. I couldn't sleep right for years.

Its all very real and inhuman. I think they keep trying to ban it in the us but they just keep coming out with movies. they're basically movies full of clips taken from everywhere when death was accidently/intentionally caught on tape.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

"The lost boys", "Nightmare on elm street", "Poltergeist", "Gremlins", "Critters"... I liked to watch horror movies even thou I knew I was going to be having nightmares about them afterwards. Another movie that scared the hell out of me even thou I watched it as an adult was "Event Horizon".
