Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

I actually thought Ironman might have been a kids movie... WRONG!!! Not after Robert Downey Jr. made it with almost every female actress in the movie in the first 10 minutes of the film!! lol I still can't figure out why that guy took his kids to see it...

And I can't wait to see Wall-E...

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

Yeah I agree here. This is why we sit with no one in front of us when we bring our 2 year old. She loves to look over at people in front of her and pull on the seats. We sit on the railing so there isn't anyone else in front of us.

I agree that teens are way worse than little uns

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

The last movie I saw in a theater was Must Love Dogs (2005)and that was only because our neighbor gave us free passes.
Before that was Don't Say a Thing (2001).
I hate the theater; too expensive, too many people talking through the movie, too many poorly raised punks goofing off and I can't PAUSE the movie to go to the bathroom like I can with my DVR, lol!!

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

My boyfriend and I go to the movies all the time, and thankfully we haven't had any bad experiences so far. The only one I can recall that peeved me out was when (taller) people decided to sit directly in front of us, blocking our view of the screen.

We also try to go to matinees during a weekday ... cheaper tickets + less people.

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

We don't go to the movies anymore. We have our own theatre room.

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

I hadn't had a problem until yesterday. lol. We went to see Wall-E. Now, of course, I expected kids and normal kid behavior throughout the movie. Duh, it's a kid's movie. lol.

Most of the kids were good, actually! But there were these two kids directly behind me that were using their "outside" voices throughout the whole movie. Part way through the movie, one of them started screaming about how he had to go potty. After two minutes of arguing, his father finally agreed to take him. As soon as they got back, he started screaming and whining about how he wanted Pepsi, so his dad caved in and gave him his drink. Ok, yeah...great idea. As soon as your child empties his bladder, be sure to let him fill it right back up. *sigh* This went through the WHOLE movie, too. I'm just glad that dialogue didn't play a large role, or I would have missed pretty much every part of the movie except the really loud parts.

I turned around and glared at the parents (almost directly behind me...as their kids were directly behind me and they were next to their kids) twice throughout the movie, but they were just completely oblivious. Seriously, if I had kids and they were acting THAT badly, I would have taken them out of the theatre and told them we could go back in once they were ready to be quiet. Seriously. I was so angry.

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

The most priceless movie going experience I can relate has to be from when I went to see Hairspray with my best friend and my family. Two rows down from us, 4 chatty teenage girls would NOT SHUT UP about some cute guy in the movie the whole time and whatever else was stressing out their tiny brain waves.
About 1/2 way through the movie, they were screeching, I finally stood up and just screamed "SHUT UP" and heard someone else screaming right next to me. I looked to my left and my friend and I had apparently stood and screamed as if on cue and scared the popcorn out of these girls and they finally shut up.

It was a beautiful moment. I'm sorry to hear about your movie experience.

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

I hate going to the movies, i'd rather download them when the DVD quality ones come out.
i've only gone to the movie theater 4 times in my life, two were to watch ET, when i was about 4 years old, and another one to watch the LOTR few years ago when i was 25, before that one i went with some friends to watch XXX, and another one i don't remember the name of, watched two movies in a row that day, that's it.

Re: Fun Going to the Movies?

My wife, daughter and I went to see Wall-E last night and besides being a great movie the kids were better behaved than the adults at Ironman!! Lol. I loved Wall-E... Sooo cute!! Pixar always a great job.... In my humble opinion....
