Exclamation Procter & Gamble Pull Bet & Mtv Ads?

Following the release of “THE RAP ON RAP” STUDY last month, the world’s largest advertiser, Procter & Gamble, has set up a toll-free hotline to obtain input from consumers regarding the company’s corporate sponsorship of music video programs on BET and MTV.

Customers can email to provide input whether they want the company “to change our advertising on BET and MTV.”

The ENOUGH IS ENOUGH CAMPAIGN is working to engage six major advertisers — Procter & Gamble, YUM Brands, Wal-Mart, General Moters, McDonalds and AT&T — whose corporate advertising dollars sponsor music video programs on BET and MTV that contain inappropriate themes for youth.

As a parent with children, I read all 21 pages of that report. It was interesting to say the least.

Its good to hear that they're actually listening to the input of consumers.

Re: Procter & Gamble Pull Bet & Mtv Ads?

Well, based on the report that I read, they analyzed certain shows on BET and MTV, breaking down the instances of violence, drug use, sex, and how many times each curse word is said in that given period of time.

After all the research that was done, it was concluded that every 38 seconds a child is exposed to some sort of negative view from music videos on these two channels.

They also concluded that billion dollar companies advertise on these two channels and that if all their sponsorship is pulled, these shows cannot live.
