Arrow Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

What movies scared you when you were younger? Or what movie made a BIG impression when you were a child??
Did you have nightmares from it? Or did it make you feel sad?
Some movies make big impressions when you are a kid and you never forget them.....or maybe there are just the characters in the movie who scared you the most or gave you a weird feeling, share it with me girls

** ** ** **
Here are some movies from me:

The movie (serie) "IT" based on Stephen Kings novel scared me very very much! It made me dislike clowns, and I still don't like clowns. This one gave me nightmares after I watched a part.
This movie still scares me you know, in particular Pennywise! WTF!!

Creepy!!!!!

Another (animated) movie what made a big impression when I was a child is "Watership Down"
This movie follows rabbits fleeing the destruction of their home by a land developer. I haven't seen this one for a long time actually, I would love to see this one again!

I can't remember a lot but I do know the story made me sad, some rabbits died. And there was a very scary rabbit too! I think the blood in the movie made me scared too, I was a kid you know

Another character that I really dislike and somehow made me afraid was from Alice In Wonderland, the Cat and the queen

The Omen scared me to death (I saw it younger than I was supposed to)! That scene when they're under the ice. Brrr I still get chills. I haven't seen them since so I don't know if they're still scary or if it's just my childhood imagination

101 dalmatians. I know it seems weird but when they broke into someone's house it really freaked me out.

I'm not scared of "Sleeping Beauty" but Maleficent really scared me. Especially the part when only her eyes appear.

The Exorcist was my first scary movie...many, many years ago. It scared the hell out of me for obvious reasons.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

I agree with some of you girls as on IT, The Excorcist. A HUGE one for me was and will always be THe Shining. It still haunts me to this day. I saw it as a child and just can't get the images out of my head. When I found out there really is an Overlook Hotel ( I think that was the name)- it made it even creepier.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

Carrie really scared me. I think it was the general mood and look of the movie that got to me. I think there was a part where she was locked in a dark closet with a crucifix on the wall. that scared me, I haven't seen it for a very long time and have no plans to.
Amityville horror also scared me. the whole satan aspect of it freaked me out. I saw exorcist later in life and it still got to me. Probably a good thing that I never saw it when I was younger.

And I never saw Watership Down when I was young but saw it recently, also reading the book now. It got to me in a major way. I openly wept during a few parts. Only a few other movies have ever gotten to me like that. It's a very touching and heart-breaking story.

The Movie Carrie had a scary atmosphere. (S. King again )

Maybe I should get that book from Watership Down too, I will go look for it!

You know what's another movie that made a BIG impression to me?
My mother even recorded this one for me on videotape and I took it with me to primary school, I think I was in 5 or 6 grade, for a great afternoon watching a movie

It was Labyrinth. The movie with David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly.
Very fantasy and so amazing, all those creatures, it was like a dream.
You know the part where she reaches the castle and all the stairs are upside down and she was looking for the baby? And the swamp? Great movie back then.

Re: Scary/ impressive movies when you were young

The Shining was pretty scary - but the book is worse!
A Nightmare on Elm Street - when the boy was walking like a marienette by his veins
Sharon Stone did a movie called Diablo (sp)
The original was B & W and much better - a real suspence thriller - especially the scene where the man slowly rises out of the bathtub!

Night of the living dead

And though this is not a movie, the tv shoe "reading rainbow" the theme music made me cry and I am still terrified of Levar Burton (sorry )
