Homesick
And very much so, at that. Somewhere in between being pregnant and having a birthday and not seeing a single member of my family since Jan 2nd, I'm feeling pretty low. I can't believe I still have to wait until December to see any of them. What have I gotten myself into? I'm 22 years old, 2000 miles away from home, taking care of a 3 year old by myself, and pregnant with another baby. What am I going to do when Eric gets out of AIT and there is a 98% chance that he's going to get deployed?
It's nearly 6 am, guess I should just go to bed.

Re: Homesick
weellll... I don't know if we can help, but maybe we can be your second home? pm us when you feel glum, and you'll have a friendly ear to talk to when you get that homesick feeling.
Other than that, isn't there any way one of your family could visit? I mean, obviously, you are going to be hormonal and stuff since you're pregnant... surely someone could come and stay for a while?
Frankly I think you're doing really well. As you say, you're only my age, living a bajillion miles from home, and it's not like your husband is at home all the time. I'd be lonely too.
In fact, I'm not sure I'd cope as well as you are! you should be proud of yourself, that's for sure.
If you ever need someone to talk to, hit me up. xox

Re: Homesick
I'm sorry you are feeling so down. The ladies have great idea!
Could a family member stay with you for a while - might help out with looking after your little one.
If your boyfriend does get deployed, are you going to stay with your family until he gets back? Or at least for some period of time?

Re: Homesick
Are you going to try to live w/ you family when he is deployed? That's what I do. I wouldn't want to live by myself and not knowing practically anyone, and with kids it's definately a lot harder. It saves money and I get to see my family while he is gone. And they are there for support. Just show him how much you appreciate him and how much you support him, it's the best for them, and I hope you feel better I'm sure you're doing a great job raising your girl and the next one as well.
I don't have kids but I too got homesick when we first moved in together. My parents and my little brother came to visit me after 2 months and I was really sad and cried when they left.
But then I felt like a weenie for crying cause my husband see's his parents one week out of the year and he is a lot closer to them than I am w/ mine, so I shouldn't feel that bad.

Re: Homesick
I wish they could come visit, but it's just not feasible. My dad is disabled so he has neither the money nor tolerance to fly out here. And Eric's family is actually going through a bit of a slump right now, so there is no way for them to come out either.
Mari, when he gets deployed I am definitely going back home. We have our own house back in NC so we would save ASSLOADS of money, plus all of our family is within 30 minutes.
I only have to go another 5 months, so we're on the downward slump! I just have to keep reminding myself of that. My fellow MuTers, ya'll are seriously awesome.

Re: Homesick
I talk to my dad about once a week and regularly text Eric's mom & sister. My brother and I communicate over myspace on occasion.

Re: Homesick
Awww, I'm sorry Kat! I know the homesick thing! I haven't seen biological family since 2005, and the closet family I've seen is Aunt Kathy in December! I haven't even been back to Georgia (which is what I consider home) since we left in 09/2005. I'm dying here! I totally know the feeling. But, I do give you kudos for surviving through military life. I hated it growing up, and refused to marry into it because of knowing how hard it can be. Keep your head up girl! You'll make it!

Re: Homesick
I understand how you feel Kat.
Even though i haven't seen my parents since 2005, i don't really feel that big of a need to see them or anything, don't miss them that much. I miss them but not too much, know what i mean...
I am pretty happy here where i am and everything so i don't really miss anyone. i miss my son sometimes, but that is about it.
On another hand, i feel for you when you say that you dont know what you're gonna do if Eric or when Eric gets deployed, that would be a terrible thing for me, i don't know what i would do if i were in your situation either..
If you ever wanna talk just msn me girl, i am there most of the time *hugs*
