So Bummed...
So my best friend since 8th grade is moving to Colorado tomorrow! I'm sooo sad! We seriously do everything together and try to see eachother at least once a week and talk almost every day! We planned our babies together and they're 11 days apart!! Anyway, her husband is starting law school and he was accepted to a school in Denver!
We got together today and had lunch and spent the day hanging out and when it got to be time to say good buy, I totally lost it! We were both crying and hugging and acting like typical girls! LOL I know it's only one state over so it wouldn't be too expensive of a flight or drive but we're both not in the financial situation to do that very often.
The next time I'm realistically gonna see her is next summer! That seems like so far away! So anyway, I'm really really sad right now and I'm not sure what I'm gonna do without her! I'm so used to being able to just call her and say let's get lunch or let's go shopping!!
So thanks for letting me vent and I'm glad I have my online friends to keep me company since she'll be gone!

Aww that is a little sad your life long best friend moving away, at least you can still chat to her reguarly and you should be able to catch up in person every now and again.

Re: So Bummed...
awww, A, that is so sad
but maybe if you both drive half way you can meet up a little bit more often. I'm sure you can still call and talk on the phone.. I hate this kind of thing, it's so gloomy, but eventually you will get used to things, maybe one day she will move back

Re: So Bummed...
I'm sorry April... I would be really bummed too.
You're very lucky (I'm sure you know) to have a best friend like that, so is she. I don't think I can say I have a friend like that. I have good friends, and close family... but it seems like everyone is too busy lately. My shopping buddies are my kids, but it would be nice to have a close gf.

Re: So Bummed...
:hugs: hun! I am sorry that your friend is moving away. When you start to feel sad, just think of a funny moment that you had with her and give her a call. I am sure you are feeling devastated but perhaps you can arrange to meet each other somewhere between both of your homes in the next few months.
You are going to have to be strong for her as she is the one relocating and everything and everyone will be new for her. You are lucky to have a friendship that has lasted so many years and I would hope that the distance will only make your friendship stronger.

Re: So Bummed...
I'm sorry your friend is moving away. I know first hand how difficult it can be.
Just try not to dwell on missing her and try to figure out how to make this new long-distance friendship be just as great as when she lived near you. Things will work out. Just give it time!
Stay strong.

Re: So Bummed...
It's sad, but you will be able to keep in touch as much as you do now. With email and IM's and cell phones you will be able to be in constant contact. It will all work out!

Re: So Bummed...
I'm sorry April. At least you can keep in touch online. I have a friend who I have known since she was a baby(we grew up across the street from each other), and we keep in touch through MySpace. Not as fun as in person, but easier to stay in touch than through letters.

I'm so sorry to hear that!! I couldnt' imagine my best friend moving away. We've been bf since 4th grade!! Its a good thing she's not moving far away. Plus with so much the internet you have easy access to talk to her very often.

Re: So Bummed...
I'm sorry to hear your best friend is moving away.
Keeping in contact with a good friend is important. I know I had a friend that moved away and we kept in contact via email, instant messaging and phone calls. We also sent each other funny cards, packages etc which helped ease everything.
It sounds like you have a great friend. Everything will work out for the two of you. Hugs.

That sucks, but at least you can still talk just as often. I know how you feel though, my best friend is almost 2000 miles away .
