grr!!

I get all my assignments sent back in the mail since this semester I'm an 'external' student.

I got an assignment back today and I was happy since I passed, which is all I wanted. But then I read the comments on the paper. They had circled a particular part and said 'where is your A3 map? NOT INCLUDED' - the A3 map was a major component of the paper.

what annoyed me so much is, I received an email saying that my figures and my map were not showing up in my do***ent, so I resent and then called them to make sure they'd received my map and the do***ent was showing properly. That's right - CALLED. and they said it was fine.

WHY would yo go to that effort, then not bother to check before you marked my work???? I got a PASS for this paper - but have they missed a major component of my work?! I have no idea - but I called them immediately and left a message asking them to get in contact with me and reminding them that I had indeed sent a map.

FOOLS!

not to mention, they asked us to write it as a scientific paper for a journal. So I gave it the heading 'review - coral bleaching blah blah blah' and they said 'it shouldn't be considered a review.'

BUT THAT'S JUST WHAT THEY ASKED US TO DO! these lecturers are SO contradictory, but most of all it annoys me that their attitude is so cocky and condescending. And even more, I'm angry that I put SO MUCH WORK into that map and they probably wont even remark it, even though I did the damn thing.

Humph! I had to share how annoyed I was with you all!

Well the good thing is that you passed Rosie, so its all good now, feel relieved that its finally over!
As for the dudes failing to see your map, well, let's say that it was just their dumbarse day for not noticing it.

That really sucks!! I'd hate to put that much effort into an assignment only to not even have it marked!!! Its a good thing you've passed so you dont have anything else to worry about.

OMG...I've had very similar problems before! It bothers me so much! I'm a worrier, so I totally freak out when stuff like that happens, too!

Oh - this isn't the marks for the whole semester - just one assignment that I passed.

I have passed all my assignments so far so hopefully I won't fail anything though.

I am going to appeal on this mark though, I'll keep calling until they remark it or do something about it. It annoys me so much that we had this whole long conversation about it and then they write this condescending little comment like I didn't do the work! GR!

I don't blame you for feeling annoyed. I would keep calling or emailing until you get some type of answer. I hope they contact you soon and can resolve this. Please keep us updated Rosie. Hugs.

That sucks so much! I totally sympathize.
I'm having similar problems in two subjects at college at the moment.
In one subject we weren't given a teacher and then when they finally bothered to give us one she told us that we were lazy for not completing the 7 assignments we HADN'T been told to do or instructed on how to do them!!! They shouted at my class for a full hour for a situation which imo wasn't our fault! So now I have two weeks (yes TWO weeks) to do at least 5 of my assignments.
And then in another subject I spent months making a case study for my assignment and after I handed it in to be marked I was told that they'd LOST it!!!! So now I have to re-do the whole thing because even though it was their fault if I don't hand something in I automatically fail.
I have to go for my review of my work and stuff at college tomorrow morning so if any of it get's mentioned like it's my problem I am seriously gunna scream
