What would you do? **Updated!

**Update**
I called the current secretary of my former school. She was not there when I attended but she is going to dig through the records tomorrow and hopefully she will see some sort of record of my taking Geometry. She said that the previous administrator (my principal that wasn't my pal) kept terrible records. SO please pray or send me some positive thoughts that something will be found.

I am in the process of completing my pre-requisites to get into nursing school. I need two more mathematics courses. Statistics and College Algebra. The requirements for either of these courses include one year of high school Geometry or either of the following: Geometry at the college plus an intermediate Algebra course, or you could take an assessment test for the Geometry and just test out of it. Here is where the fun part starts. I attended a private Christian high school and I took Geometry my senior year but my principal did not put it on my transcript. I cannot go back to her and request that she add it to my transcript.

I am considering just taking the Statistic course and not bothering with the Geometry since I did in fact take Geometry in high school. I figure that there is a very small chance that the college would even look at my transcript to see if I had taken it. One of my friends was home schooled and has no official transcript and he didn't mess with the Geometry and had no problems at all.

Re: What would you do?

I voted to test out. Your friend was able to get our of it, but do you really want to risk possibly getting into a mess later?

Re: What would you do?

In Ontario, the nursing students need to do a senior high school calculus course and another senior high school math.
The statistics course here is known as data management - very important for nursing and health records.
So I would suggest completing the statistics course.

Why not have an administrator or Board of Education check your records and issue you the credit you earned?
Do you have any tests or assignments to prove you did take the course?

Best of luck with your studies Oobladi.

I went to a small private Christian school and it was not state funded or accredited by the state (my parents didn't know this and were lied to by the principal) so the Board of Education cannot help me at all. I wish I had a test or something but since I've been out of high school for 18 years all of those items have long been thrown away. The only proof I could even come close to getting is contacting the one other student that took the class with me in high school and that isn't going to be official enough for them.

Re: What would you do?

Take the assessment. Just do some studying, I'm sure there on online websites that help you with that.

Re: What would you do?

take the test to opt out. most nursing schools are very picky because they have so many applicants (from my own experience) and little things could hinder you from getting in so i say just be on the safe side. good luck.

Re: What would you do?

If you are a good test taker and remember geometry, than take the test...if you are not then just take the course...

it sucks that it wasn't put on your transcript, I had an issue like that in HS where I decided to take U.S History but by correspondence.

Well low and behold my counseler that stupid idiot told me weeks before graduation that it wouldn't be accredited and I needed that class in order to graduate.

AND she was the one who recommended to take it in the first place!! So I got my mom involved and my mom is...well she's my mom and wouldn't stand for it, we went to the principal, the school district, and one day while I was in a class my counselor came up to me with a huge smile and was like here is your credit you earned it...like it was no big deal!!

I heard she retired this year because my sister just graduated from that same Highschool. Thank God!

Sorry about the rant!
