Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Hi NYL - both pics are with foundation (I wish it was "before" but it's not )
Right NOW, I think I am loving Lauress more. I really like these yellow shades. Are you wearing Lauress too?

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Lilita- Oh My Gawd. Did I read that right??? I thought you were SO deadset on Meow! But I have to agree with you girl, Lauress is definitely HG material. I have not seen a formula quite like it. And the great news is there is just no mixing for me with Lauress - all I need is to go one shade darker during summer and revert back to my original shade in winter- it's that easy. I have a feeling I know why you like Lauress better - it's the unbelievably velvety and ultra light feel, and finish is creamy and silky. I'm loving the Yellows on you!

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Now I really can't wait for my Elemental samples...have a good feeling about these yellow shades and the finish. I got the Luminesse samples today and wasn't too impressed, but I'll try again tomorrow and see what happens. But this Elemental sounds too good to be true, is it really that good?? Better than Monave or Lumiere's FF?

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Aileen-
That's awesome that you only need to go up a step in color for summer. It is simplier. What colors are you in Lauress?
Sunny-
Elemental is by far #1 in feel in my book. If you like sheer buildable coverage then it's a winner. I just like Lumiere FF because I have pigmentation issues and I am lazy and I get the coverage with FF quickly. But I am telling you the look and feel of Elemental is like real skin only better. Right ladies?

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Dayna, I use Delicate Yellow or Radiant Gold, and during summer it will most probably be Soft Gold or Soft Yellow. I can wear either the golds or the yellows so I'm so happy I have a lot of shades to choose from.
Sunny, as I've said in another thread, Lauress when applied damp is a marriage of the amazing coverage of Monave/Valerie/J.Lynne and the ultra-light feel of Meow. It's like having the best of both worlds.

That is really appealing to have numerous matches in one brand and I think Lauress original looks fantastic on you, Aileen. I read you blog about the first shades you tried and can see why you weren't bowled over by them. Sometimes it really is about finding the right shade. I am all for not mixing too. I am so lazy.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Periwinkle - LOL, I still love Meow (the feeling of lightness, all-day matteness & correct amount of yellowness thanks to Angora) but you're spot on there about LaurEss being HG material!
It's so perfect - not too creamy/velvety (too creamy = oiliness by afternoon!), not too sheer, and the amount of "yellowness" is perfect! I LOVE how soft it feels, not drying at all, and LOVE the fact that I don't have to mix.
I am really digging these Yellows. In Elemental, I find I can wear Radiant Yellow, Soft Yellow and Pure Yellow ... which is a bit of a pain because now I'm not sure which one to get a f/s of! I can wear the Golds too but I think they're a tad dull/greenish on me compared to the yellows.
EDIT: ok I just read the other Lauress thread
Gee, ladies... decisions, decisions... Original or Elemental ? Which Yellow?
Should I buy more foundation? Do I really need it? Will I ever kick this habit?

Question #1 get both, #2- I'd pick the one in the middle or the one that stands out as matching best... hey where's that bf of your's to be doing all this "work?" That is part of the job right, picking your best color? #3 always, #4 Need, shmeed. #5 You're a junkie Lilita, it's cold turkey or addict for you, Babe. I know I can't just "use" responsibly. I think I am a little high from the primer fumes? I've done 3 of the 5 rooms with two coats and the other two with one each. One more day and then I'm done for a while... unless DH decides to do nothing but mud and sand all weekend and then I may be facing another week of this... and then another to actually paint colors.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Dayna- true, isn't finding the perfect shade the key to everything? I left other mineral makeup brands that feel and look good but the shades are wrong on me. I think with the amazing range of colors and shades Lauress has to offer, you're bound to find one perfect shade (or two).
Lilita - that's okay girl, I'm a makeup junkie too! Can you believe I actually DREAM of makeup? And I completely agree with all of Dayna's answers to your q's

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
OK, I did it! I placed my f/s Lauress order tonight - Soft Yellow (Elemental) and Creamy Yellow (Original) and some more foundation and lippie samples just because...
Hoozey - I'm glad you mentioned the BF because I forgot about his part in all this And he picked SOFT YELLOW. Your life is definitely a lot more interesting than mine right now. Gimme some primer fumes!!
Periwinkle - Your dreaming of M/U does not surprise me because you are the makeup queen and expert! So crazy - these past few nights I have been dreaming of foundation swatches!
Okey dokey. This is it. NO-BUY STARTS NOW.

Yay!! Enjoy the buys! I don't think you'll be disappointed either. Glad you got that BF back to work! My life is not interesting at all. I spend several hours a day doing nothing but priming- take my cell phone down with me and tell the kids if there's an emergency to call my cell rather than home when they are at the neighbor's. Let me tell you, the first few days, I was sore from it - I had pain in muscles I didn't even know were there. I am starting to get used to it now. At least last night I finished soon enough to make a decent meal- daughter got home from a track meet just in time and said everyone in the car was wondering what that wonderful smell was (BBQ chicken) and she's like "Oh just my mom's cooking." They wanted to stay.
Today is an easy day of painting. It does get exciting when you see it starting to take shape. I can't wait to do the colors. I love decorating. In the past we've always been "NEUTRAL" because we moved so much, but we bought this house and the dining room was deep red, master golden honey, kitchen horrible pukey brown yellow- I redid that with golden yellow venitian plaster... love!! It's old world look to it. Anyway, living here has opened up a whole world of color for my hubby and he actually wants red walls in the pool table room.
OK- back to MMU. I think you'll love both Lauress formulas in f/s.
Aileen-
I haven't dreamed of makeup yet but I am an addict, too. I look at your blog and can't decide which foundation is my favorite on you. A few stand out in my mind though, Lauress and J Lynne for sure. You always look so put together in whatever you wear. I have your blog on my bookmarks.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
Hoozey - I sit at a desk in front of a computer all day - granted that I am doing what I love for a living, sometimes I'd rather be up on my feet moving around... Red walls in the pool room - Wow. Sounds like a groovy pad you've got there!!!

Sunny -
the Elemental is sheerer than Monave and Lumiere. (closer to Luminesse) So you'll need to use more layers if you want comparable coverage. However, it FEELS great! So light and natural and the yellow-shades are just right. I like Luminesse and am OK with the shades being a tad darker than VV/FF but the colors don't seem very vibrant/bit dull-ish... or something.... Lauress' colors are more alive.

Re: LaurEss Elemental - YELLOW shades
I'm sure you'll love the original Lauress formula, Lilita! I just don't know which one you'll prefer, that or the Elemental. In any event, I think I just dream of MMU because they're the last thing on my mind because I usually surf MMU boards before I turn in. As to MMU swatches, I would be surprised if you don't dream about them. I'm sure you've placed a lot of effort in creating your fantabulous chart.
Dayna, thanks! I think LaurEss and J.Lynne are stand-outs as well, although my friends say they like BE the best on me (I use a lot of BE foundations in the first few posts in the blog). But since you and Ruby and Lilita have piqued my curiosity on Meow, I think I won't forgive myself if I pass up on the sale.
