Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Dayna: thanks, and good luck on the basement duty! Making home improvements gives such a high because you know you'll be getting ooohhs and aaaahs from guests once they're done!
Lilita: I will definitely try using it dry as it does have the Monave finish and texture to me. I will try mixing with Caprice, and I agree, your chart definitely does help a lot and makes choosing shades so much easier.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Lilita, I saw the chart on the site and you did an excellent job! It's really nice to have all of the colors sorted in such a way that customers can get an idea on what shades to pick.

I have no social life and neither does my husband, so we will get very few ooohhhs and aaahs from guests. Pathetic huh? I am just motivated about it because I feel horrible this nice pool table is in this basement that was nothing but stud walls and barely any lighting before. We really did play it at the last house- we finished the basement there too but it's not very appealing when it's dungeon like. We will tile the floor and have a TV in there. Then I think we will play a lot more. Fortunately I am not externally motivated because if I was expecting anyone to see it, I may have to wait a long time!
Been thinking about Milan colors and you may want to try Caprice mixed with a little Amber if it is too light.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Lilita-
I have no local friends to invite- so I guess I'll have to invite all the MuT friends. What mmu do you have on order... Meow of course and fullsize Laruess, anything else? I got my shipping notices for the rest of my Lumiere brushes. Got my kabuki already and am thinking I need to get another for backup when I wash it. Takes a bit longer to dry than natural bristles and I don't think I can go back to my other brushes because it feels so soft. No worries about shedding either... I don't think it has lost a single bristle. Excited to get the rest. Definitely one of my good purchases.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Hoozey - I'll come to your party!
Yes, I am waiting on Meow and Lauress, and I also ordered from Fyrinnae a sample of mica-free foundation (<--- curiosity), "yellow foundation color corrector" and some perfume oil samples. Then I am going to stop for a while.... until summer when my skintone really changes. I wore Lumiere LMG yesterday and it looked so wrong on me. I was out walking the dog and everytime I passed my reflection in a parked car window I wanted to rush home and wash my face
Also must stop spending because I have to have oral surgery next month & I don't have health insurance...
About those Lumiere brushes - they are all really really soft and gorgeous! I am now using the flat top which is amazing. You are going to love them.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Lilita-
It's amazing how quickly things change with our skin. It only took a few days of sun and I had to really consider what my summer color will be. I can't wait for the Lumiere brushes because the kabuki was so good. I got the flat top and two of the long handle kabukis plus the 8 brush set. I figure someof these would be perfect for my mom's mother's day gift.
I wish I could find Luminesse L-M Golden color in the FF. It's my perfect tan color- just need the FF coverage.
I've kind of hit a wall when it comes to MMU purchases- storage-wise. I think working on the basement is also diverting my attention fortunately.
Good luck with the oral surgery. I hate that kind of stuff. I grind my teeth and one dentist recommended the little plastic guard... $700!! My insurance wouldn't cover it and I just couldn't bring myself to pay that price.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Lilita- goodluck with the surgery! I am more afraid of the dentist's chair than any other medical procedure, so hats off to you!
Dayna- I have the Lumiere kabuki brush as well and it does take a while longer to dry, so I'm glad i have my BE and MAC 182 as back ups! Too bad I already have a brush set I bought from Beauty Checkout 2 years ago (and they still work perfectly and are wonderfully soft as well), so I passed up on the Lumiere pre-buy. It is a wonderful investment, though, if you say it doesn't shed! I am waiting for Meow, Lauress (I got a full size jar of Soft Gold in the original formula for the summer months), my MAC Pearl Sunshine from the MAC site, some more Fyrinnae e/s samples, and a huge 13.5g tub of mineral veil from eBay. After that, it's a no-buy. We just paid the IRS (yup no refunds for us ), so we need to save up.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
hey girls,
quick flyby.....
ya know, i wanted ask re: the lumiere synthetic brushes. i got mine last week, and haven't had a chance to wash them yet..but gosh, they had this kinda gross 'petroleum' smell to them.... maybe it's just the synthetic factor?? i'm hoping that'll fade after i wash them the first time. i'm really sensitive to smells and chemicals, so i'm hoping these brushes will work for me.. otherwise, i'm gonna have two gorgeous new brushes, and won't be able to use them! ack! the worst part is, i think, "hey, that's $20 extra bucks i could have used on some "other" mmu!" lol
gotta run!

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Pebo,
I suggest you wash it (the Lumiere kabuki) ASAP before using them! I really got bad break-outs after using it for the first time without washing it... I think the smell does fade away after several washings.

Re: Milan foundation colors - preview
Pebo-
I noticed the smell too and washed mine right away. The smell was much better after that. The only bad part is that they take a while to dry because synthetic seems to take longer than natural and of course they are dense. I am glad that I bought so many so I can have one completely dry. I have a feeling I won't be using my old brushes much after getting the Lumiere ones.

An observation: Milan's foundation colors are all really rich and vivid.... so interesting that they don't have a lot of beige in them (Beige tends to make me look flat and ashy) I haven't tested any on my skin/searched for my match yet. Look fwd to doing this on the weekend!

Hello Lilita,
I ordered Kiana, Raven, Olivia and Cythina (I think..lol). Which colors would look good on me?
Thanks,
