Re: Sephora or Ulta
I've never ordered, or been to ulta... so I can't comment. I've been to a lot of Sephoras, even one in Florence, Italy. The Florence one was pretty small, and didn't have a lot of brands... that was the only time I ever walked out of a Sephora without buying anything. The biggest Sephora I was in would probably have to be in Los Angeles. The New York ones are big, but the LA one was huge. Considering I usually spend 200-300 per visit, I think I'm addicted to Sephora. I just love how you can get different brands. I like a lot of Stila, Nars, Tarte, Sheseido, Dior eyeshadows, and I can get them all at Sephora. The only thing you can't get that I love, is MAC and Armani cosmetics.

Re: Sephora or Ulta
I like both.
Sephora cuz they have awesome brands and I love it! ITs my fav store but the con is that they don't carry drugstore brands
Ulta, they carry both high-end and drugstore brands, Which I totally love! Only thing is that they don't have a good variety when it come to high-end brands.

Me too. If I've had a bad day, Sephora can perk me right up!
I am with the rest of you that Ulta has a great hair care selection. I also tend to spend money on stupid stuff at Ulta, whereas in Sephora I'm usually more aware of what I'm spending. Does that make sense? Ulta has some essentials---like razors and lotions and stuff like that, and before I know it, I've spent $100. But at Sephora, I know that I'm spending $30 on blush or something, and I tend to look at the prices more.
Heh. Look...new girl making no sense!
The last time I was in Ulta, though, a girl that was there as a rep for a company (can't remember which one) said a friend of hers worked for Stila and they were trying to get Stila into Ulta. I'd be soooo excited about that.

Re: Sephora or Ulta
Being a hairstylist, I cant stand Ulta. They have a salon in the store, yet they sell boxed hair color? Support your stylists. Their biggest competition is drugstore hair color!
So obviously I will choose Sephora!

Re: Sephora or Ulta
i do both.
when it comes to one stop shopping, i always do ulta because i get the rewards on my card. i also get my hair wax there and a bunch of organic body products. it also has a great selection of hair tools.
I also like testing makeup at ulta better because their lighting is better.
BUT
i could not live without sephora. i test all my perfumes there, since they have them ALL. sephora has a better signature line in my opinion, they sell my lip balm (rosebud salve), they sell my dior (even though i only buy when nordstrom's or macy's is out- i have a dior rewards card as well that doesnt work at sephora), but my main reason to go to sephora is for FREE samples. i always go straight to the back, and ask for a sample of the newest, most expensive face product they have, and they are always generous.
i love that.

Re: Sephora or Ulta
There isn't an Ulta near me, so I'll have to go with Sephora. Plus, their selection can't be beat and the salespeople aren't pushy. For those who go to Ulta - do they have salespeople trolling the aisles to sell you stuff, or do they pretty much leave you alone?
