Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

For the brush dilemma, I just take a new tissue and wrap it around the head of the brush.

For the minerals, I put them in a tiny ziplock bag for travel. I have a bunch saved up from various things I've ordered (mostly jewelry). Works great!

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

I don't have a problem traveling with any of my brushes. They stay safe in my makeup bag. I do put a thick cotton ball on top of the sifters for my foundation, blushes, primer, etc. then screw on the lid.

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

I've been using a plastic container that used to hold my sugar scrub in it. after i finished it, i've been treating it as my 'swirly bowl', but the sides are high enough that i can fit my kabuki and a few 5gm jars of mmu in there. it worked like a charm this weekend when I had to drive 8 hours to a wedding. held all my stuff together, and kept my kabuki from getting too damaged. It's plastic, so it's lightweight.

Maybe you might have something similar that you can put your things in? so far I like this because it doubles up - as both container for mmu goodies, and swirly bowl.

HTH

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

geminisc - that's a great tip! Now I need to go find a pretty plastic container with a lid.

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

I just bought a kabuki off of Ebay, received it today. Looked good in the picture, sounded great in the description...I'm pretty sure by the end of the night there will be no hairs left on the kabuki. It's shedding like crazy, I've never seen a brush this bad...and I thought my BE kabuki shed alot. That's what I get for buying a kabuki from Hong Kong, I guess...should have known better. Although the hairs are really soft, I'm sure they are supposed to be sable hair. oh well....

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

LOL! Love your description.

So sorry your brush didn't work out Sunny. I was eyeing some of the makeup brushes on ebay from a HK seller. Pretty good price for an entire set, and pretty cases too.

Re: Those who travel with their mineral makeup

I put the brushes that come without carrying cases inside cheap plastic "sandwich bags"--the kind you can buy at the dollar store. I put everything inside a larger ziploc bag. I've found a multitude of uses for sandwich bags, and since they're so cheap, I can toss them when they get dirty.
