Yes it had awesome coverage! I know a lot of drag queens wore it too until MAC. They used to say Covergirl does not cover boy lol

That's the best part about MMU- there's so many great techniques to apply and get the look YOU want.
EVERYONE- we need to stop looking so closely--- I know I use a 10X mirror to apply e/s and then I'm like "OMG my pores are HUGE! and look at those lines" Then when I look at what would be a normal face to face conversation distance I look pretty darn good. I figure anyone getting closer than that will have to just deal with the lines and pores. or maybe they shouldn't be that CLOSE.

Thanks for the reassurance. It's not just Meow, but quite a few others..., I'm a bit ashamed to admit. I was ecstatic because I could *never* find the intense shades of yellow as I found on the sites, and my HG was PN (Shiseido's younger and pricier line) which costs me an arm and a leg (US$45) anyway. Powder usually doesn't sit well because of my oily patches and some acne scars, but a too pink, too ashy, too beige, too brown shade is a bigger problem. Lately, I'm really into the DIY mode, and I'm game enough to try mixing the powders into skincare, sunscreen and moisturizers, so I remain optimistic. The eyeshadows though, will be great, as I'm already using powder shadows in little jars, and I'll never go back to pressed powders, the intensity in color is unbeatable!
The waiting though, is a bit much. It takes a while before they start shipping. Some have been quicker and more responsive than others, eg. Milan, Mineral Basics, TaylorMade. Well, they're all finally shipped as of today, and just happy to know they're in the post now. Can't wait!

Yeah, the waiting at first is kind of like the innitiation into this wonderful world of MMU from the online companies. I sufferred through several weeks of BE itchies because I couldn't go back to regular MU, while waiting for other brands. I think you'll enjoy it.
Also, I find MMU yellows so refreshing, only high end ones ever matched me because I have yellow undertones and the more available brands were all so pink.

Re: I love mineral makeup, i really do but...
Shellie how are you applying your LaurEss Elemental foundation? When I first received the sample foundation I applied it dry with a brush and though okay, I felt the same as you in that it accentuated the fine lines. I then applied the foundation wet. I should say semi-wet, actually.
I purchased a non-latex sponge from a beauty store. It's brownish in color and is egg shaped. I got those for 4.00 for 2. I wet the sponge and squeeze out excess water unitl the sponge is just damp. I then sprinkle the foundation in a little dish and dab the sponge into the dish and apply the foundation downward on my face.
I've noticed that if I apply it this way it does not accentuate the lines and it doesn't look cakey. It also seems to lasts longer.
For some reason if I apply foundation with a brush the foundation seems to just sit on top of my face whereas with a wet application it absorbs into my skin.
I also purchased a cheapo sponge at Walmart (or Target, I keep forgetting where I got it). It was also non-latex and it came in a 10 pack and the sponge was white and round. It worked just as well as the one I purchased at the beauty store but whenever I cleaned it it would fall apart. With the one at the beauty store it kept it's shape and hasn't fallen apart yet.
I also purchased the flocked sponge from J.Lynne and just tried it today. I didn't like how it looked. The sponge really absorbs the water and I tried to squeeze every last drop of it from the sponge and it was still too wet. When I applied my foundation it just moved around on my face and looked weird. I then pressed all the water out of the sponge between a towel and it worked better. I think the flocked sponge would work better if it was dry instead of damp. I'll have to try it dry next time.

Re: I love mineral makeup, i really do but...
I have the same issues with the fine lines, even after using moisturizer and primer.
I can't help but look up close Hoozey! LOL! but it does look great from a distance.
I haven't tried the "wet" method yet. I think I will try and see if this makes a difference
for me also. Sometimes during the day, If I see the lines, I will put a little moisturizer
on top of them and it tends to disguise them a little more! It sucks getting older!!

Yes, getting older sucks. I am not so disappointed with my face as the rest of me. It's frustrating when I am working out or something and I can't continue not because I am tired but because my knee is killing me or something. I try to stop myself from looking too closely at the 10x mirror after I finished with my eyes-- it's a horror show- pores and lines.

Re: I love mineral makeup, i really do but...
I mix a little of the MMU with my eyecream/serum and pat it on like a concealer to prevent it from looking dry or cakey. Mixing with water works too, but since the water evaporates, I don't like to do that when my skin is feeling dry.

Re: I love mineral makeup, i really do but...
I've never used a primer because of my antipathy to 'cones, but I've found a light misting after application helps set the MMU and prevent creasing. I use plain old distilled water in a little [fine] mister bottle.

Does it make a difference, or will it be like apply powder "wet", which is as bad or worse? Has anyone tried this?

Hi Sis! We must be related. I today received my 2lbs (yes pounds!) of serecite and rice powder (1 pound of each). I already have a pound of kaolin clay. I find that when I use the serecite as a "primer" for my foundation, I get a "finer" more flawless application. I have yet to try the rice powder this way.
Hope this helps.
