I find that the CR Primer is more "gel-like" than Eraser (which I consider thick and waxy) and because of this, I can gently spread/smooth it out over my skin with small dabs, with no problems. I think the CR primer melds better with my skin and makes the surface feel really silky, whereas Eraser tends to "flake" when rubbed, if you know what I mean.
Does this help?

Oh, ok. I would classify Eraser as a paste. I think that is one of the secrets of Eraser. It being a paste, doesn't allow it to "go in" to the skin. Based on the description "gel-like", CR is more fluid? If it is more fluid, does it stay on top of your skin or would it want to absorb?
I have no idea if I just made any sense??!!?? Please let me know if I am in the ballpark on this description.
Thank you!!

Re: Need A Good Primer
someone turned me on to mary kay after sun replenshing gel for a primer and i THINK? it works good. i mean my mmu has stayed on always no matter what, so i dont really know if it would work for someone whos doesnt..but it smells really good, comes in a HUGE tube that will last you forever, and is really cheap.

LOL. Yes, you made perfect sense!
Oh gosh - I am not very good with descriptions! let me try again...
yes, CR is more fluid, not "paste-like", but it's NOT fluid...
I would say it's a wet translucent gel, and when it dries, it leaves a "sheer silky-smooth layer" on top of the skin, but it just feels like I have naturally-smooth skin, (ie, I can't feel it on, after it dries).... Honestly I have no idea if it really "absorbs" or not, but it sorta feels like it does...

Got it!
The CR Primer sounds nice. I love face products that make your skin feel silky.
The Eraser (paste type) is a better fit for me. I mainly use a primer for pore/forehead line blurring. I don't think the "more fluid" type would hide all my flaws!
I'm glad we have found our HG primers!
Thanks for your great information!

For comparison, this is the ingredient list for Pure Luxe Eraser (Original and Color Correcting): cyclopentasiloxane, C30-45 alykl cetearyl dimethicone crosspolymer, dimethicone, titanium dioxide, sericite, iron oxide, mica, kaolin, vitamin E and zinc oxide.
And this is the ingredient list for Smashbox Photo Finish Primer:
Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Isopropylparaben, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Carthamus Tinctorium (Safflower) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Cola Acuminata Seed Extract, Propylene Glycol, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Isobutylparaben, Butylparaben, Water.
I totally second katnahat's application tips...that's how I use my Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel.

SCA- I went to the Monistat website and ordered a free sample of the Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel (say that 10 times fast). I'm interested to see if it's anything like the Pure Luxe Cream Eraser.
I like the PUre Luxe Cream Eraser. I agree that the dabbing technique is key to using it. If you sweep it on your face it will ball up into little granulars. Dabbing lightly and DO NOT RUB is key. That is why I think using the eraser as a final step is best.

Hi Mindy Sue!
I read about Mary Kay After-Sun Replenishing Gel on that thread too and it piqued my interest. I can't seem to find the ingredient list for it though and was wondering if you could tell me what the main ingredients (i.e., the first 4 or 5) listed on the packaging are?
Thanks!

Re: Need A Good Primer
I also use Monistate Anti Chaffing Relief Gel. It's cheap and works great. But I have also used PL eraser and loved it.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed, LadyTee16! Don't forget to tell us how it works for you when you get it.
Btw, it works as an excellent e/s primer (think UDPP...they both contain the same silicones that make your e/s adhere forever without creasing).

I use Mary Kay gel as a primer time to time. (thanks to someone who suggested this) Here are the ingredients.
water, dipropylene glycol, glycerin, dimethicone, polyacrylamide, camellia sinensis leaf extract, rhodiola rosea root extract, vanilla tahitensis fruit extract, propylene glycol, c13-14 isoparaffin, dimethicone crosspolymer, diazolidinyl urea, fragrance, laureth-7, methylparaben, disodium edta, propylparaben, pentylene glycol, phenoxyethanol, blue1.
This morning, I thought about mixing this gel and MM. I tried it with ocean mist MM. Just put gel on my hand and put a bit of MM and mix them together. I applied it with my hands and it worked great. The foundation stayed in place and it was so quick to apply. Only thing you have to be careful is not to get the gel into your eyes. It is very painful when it goes into your eyes.
i hope this helps

Re: Need A Good Primer
Does anyone know what happened to Fyrinnae's UnderThere primer? I have a little bit left and was planning on ordering more. But when I was on the site, I couldn't find it. It looks like I'm going to need to use a different one now.

Re: Need A Good Primer
Hi drealoveu!
If you are looking for a primer with similar ingredients as UnderThere Primer, the closest match, going by the ingredient list, is probably Camellia Rose Skin Smoothing Primer as it also contains Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer and Silica which are also present in Underthere Primer.
Then there's Pure Luxe Original Eraser which contains Cyclopentasiloxane, C30-45 Alykl Cetearyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer and Dimethicone.
And finally, there's Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel which contains Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer and Silica.
