All advertising is fake- I can't remember the last time I saw a girl in a magazine that wasn't photoshopped to death. :/ I'll stick to websites like MUT for honest reviews of make up

Ditto on that! Pretty much every cosmetic company does this, and it's BLATANTLY obvious! LOL, There is no mascara that I've seen that makes your lashes look like that!

It would be nice if the cosmetic companies didn't do so much airbrushing, photoshopping, etc, because it would be nice to see how well the product actually works.

I don't understandy why only Loreal has been criticised for doing this. Surely other companies use false eyelashes, too?

I always take it as a given that whichever advertisement is going to be misleading, that's why we have reviews and makeup discussion boards! That being said, I love my Telescopic, it's the best drugstore mascara evaaaaarr!!

Those ads for tv and magazines are very misleading, not only is it a lie, but misleading. hence,the name false adverstising. They should always use the models real lashes!!

I noticed the new maybelline commercial has a little thing at the bottom of the screen that says lash inserts were used or something along those lines!!

Don't always look at the model's lashes when buying mascara. Most companies use fake lashes to add to the volume of the natural lashes. Try it out or look for recommendations. If it doesn't work for you then don't buy it again if it does, it might be your new favourite mascara!

It's hard to figure what's fake and what's real anymore. I work with models, who come in for a shoot and by the time they are all made up for the camera, they don't even look the same, and that's just the make up. Then, like everyone is saying, there is air brushing and color corrections etc. So the finished product is really too good to be true!! We don't do any air brushing or color corrections, so at least we feel good to be showing how we can all look wow with the correct application of make up! And we all have pores!!!

I have to add, I didn't ever use false eyelashes, but our make up artist has shown us how they can look good if you get the right ones, and wear them on the right occasions. So I am going to start playing with them myself!

We have been working with lashes on our make up DVD, but at least we show them being used and don't try to finish the "after" make up shots without mentioning they were used and in fact showing how to glue them properly, cut them, stack them for the extra smokey look, and even decorate plain black lashes. They are fun. but not mascara!!

Yeah, I hate that they do that. You can tell that those aren't there real eyelashes.

False eyelashes can look sexy, but I personally can't stand them. Unfortunately, my husband loves the look, sees all our models with them on for each shoot. Maybe I will wear them once in a blue moon!!
