Re: What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup

This is a terrible thing to admit, but I keep all of my old makeup. I tell myself that I can't throw something away because, you know... I just might use that old e/s and risk the sure-to-come eye infection because no one makes a blue eyeshadow like that free sample I got that one time.

It's sad, I know. I actually feel ridiculous right now so I think I'm going to go clean out some of the makeup containers being stored in my linen closet!

Re: What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup

Yeah, whatever you do, I'd throw out old makeup anyway. Don't mites get in it or something gross like that? I think I saw it on Oprah once. :-P

Re: What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup

I still have a lot of traditional makeup at home. However I don't use it. I just can make a decision to get rid of it.

I always had few foundations at home, and lots of eyeshadows. Some of my foundations are quite full and I would rather give it away than throw it out. I just can decide even if I love MMU so much.

I'm in the same boat...I have the same Lancome foundation sitting in my drawers because I just got it a month before I discovered mmu and it hurts to throw it out. It's still good foundation and made my face flawless for my sister's wedding but you just can't go back to the heavier stuff after mmu.

I don't even want to give away my cheap drugstore brands to anyone since that would be mean, but I have some Inglot shadow that I will probably give to my sister since they were $35+ (I got them buy one get one free) since now I'm sensitive to them =( They were nice colours and nicely pigmented though...I keep my NARS blush and Lancome eye-liner and use them occassionally....when I'm in a rush usually.

I also have Smashbox's photofinish that I don't know what to do with since it broke me out after using mmu...I'll probably give that to someone since most people like to use it...

I kept most of them, but I don't know why since I never use them anymore. They're just taking up space I guess.

Re: What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup

Old ones I tossed out, some I gave away. I still have some left, which I use every now and then. I can't use them everyday anymore, it causes my face to break out. (even though it didn't break out when I used them regularly, weird?)

Re: What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup

When I started with MMU I had gone through a phase where I hadn't worn makeup in a few years. I barely had any stuff just some old Mary Kay crap. I ended up tossing it all. I started wearing again in 2004 with BE and occasionally I am tempted by some traditional brands like Smashbox and MAC and I just incorporate them into looks.
