What Did You Do With Your 'Traditional" Makeup - Page 6

Well I cant really do anything with my original makeup because I basically dont have any. The only three products I have are from mac and thats some studio fix powder and tw eye shadows. I breaks out in pimple and itch like crazy from that powder but I still have it for some strange reason. I hate to throw out what I paid for even if I havent used it a since I bought it.

I still use my 'old' make-up. I use mineral make-up a tonnn more since discovering it but on days when I dont I still love some of my liquid and cream foundations and will keep buying it for sure.

I need to go through all my stuff and give it away and/or throw it away. I'm sure I'll keep a few things.. maybe some blushes and eyeshadows (and my MAC lip colors of course) but other than that, I just want to be rid of it all. lol

i just can't get myself to throw it away. i spent so much money on all of it, and i did have some good times.

yea i basically have boatloads of cosmetics in my drawers that i don't use. sometimes when i want a little more coverage i use them instead of my MMU, but it feels heavy since i'm so used to that light feeling i get with MMU

The other night my 7y.o. daughter and I had a "makeover" night with all my old traditional makeup. She did my face and then I did hers. She had so much fun and I looked so scarey!

Tossed much of it except for a few eyeshadows and blushes to keep for travel, the loose powder can get messy when you're on the road. Also kept just a few regular liquid foundations and use these very infrequently. Every couple of months it seems I try to dejunk my cosmetic drawer but it I find it hard to part with something unless it really is a horrible product - hard to break the "I might need it someday" mentality.

I still have one of each type & shade of my old makeup (because they've hardly been touched. Most of them are actually still sealed) as I went on a shopping spree last year and bought everything that caught my eye. The doubles (and triples), I gave away to family when I went on a visit to the PI last December. It was a Christmas haul for them! But.. yeah. Everything is still with me. I'm thinking that I'll still use them, since I'm a noob in all of this, but MMU will be for my everyday thing.

And I totally agree with easterdawn. The "I might need it someday" mentality is my disease :P

There's no way I'm throwing away my e/s which is what I mostly have. I have tons of lippies that i won't give of either. As far as foundation goes I kept one liquid foundation just in case but I doubt i'll ever use it. I kept tons of blushes but I'll doubt I'll use that either since EDM's blushes are amazing.

I sold/am selling my drugstore-brand stuff on a local site, but I'm keeping the pricier ones (NARS, MAC, Smashbox, T.LeClerc, etc.) because I've spent so much time and money on them.

I've mostly stopped using traditional foundation (MMU has better color matches) for daily use, except for the occasional liquid for dressier occasions, but I still always use traditional eyeshadows, blush, lip products, bronzers and highlighters.
