Re: Obama and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright

These last three days I hate to say it but all the Rev. Wright coverage has been wall to wall. I hate to say it but it has been crowding out Obama's coverage. I can't think this is good for his campaign especially in Indiana where it was closer than in NC.

The crack he made yesterday about maybe being VP for Obama may have been intended as a joke, but I think this is not particularly funny to a lot of people.

He has definitely subdued his message in the interview I agree. But its not being played out in the media that way.

Ok after 5 days of statements by Rev Wright , there was finally a press conference today where Obama denounced Rev wright in pretty strong terms. check it out on CNN or MSNBC

Really? Honestly, I think that was the best thing he could do. He probably should have done it sooner, though...

Re: Obama and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright

I am not trying to second guess Obama's motivations. I think he originally sort of wanted it both ways. He wanted to state that he was his own man, but did not want to offend Rev Wright as i do believe at one point they had a strong spiritual tie. and i think you are right Shaundra he should have dealt with this more decisively back in March.

If Rev Wright had remained silent I don't think Obama would have said anything. Now he had to do something because it was affecting him politically. There are those that would say he did so because he was forced to, but we will see how this plays out on Tues.

Re: Obama and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright

OK- So Obama is Outraged with his comments and breaking ties with this Rev. Wright. It still worries me though. This guy must of had some influence on Obama in order to be his rev., right? It makes me uncomfortable to know that a presidential candidate actually followed this guy, even if he is breaking ties with him now.

Re: Obama and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright

Yeh. It would be difficult to explain away the 20 years Obama spent in this church. I wonder if he will attempt to do that.

I just read a New York Times article of how Obama had to defend himself from Rev. Wright. And the whole situation seems awful.

I've been a Clinton supporter since day one; I've never had any doubts as to whom I'd vote for, but I also believe in a fair fight. Rev. Wright is tearing Obama down and it saddens me to think that someone who calls himself a reverend could do this to his "friend." Talk about loyalty. Who needs friends like that?

What a shame. I wouldn't want Clinton to win because of the mud-slinging against her opponent. I'd want her to win fair and square, so I can truly feel proud.
