Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

Nope, I can't see it's up yet either
I have been increasingly suspicious of the same thing you guys are suggesting... What's been going on this weekend is ridiculous, and even insulting to their customer in some respect. Except there are far more important things in life than EM so I don't really care much. Simply feeling slightly annoyed right now.
I'm eagerly waiting for my first The She Space order... need I say more?

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

I love EDM projects and prices, but I'm starting to agree with you guys. They need to be consistent and if they say something is happening to stick with it. I think it's better not to mention a website is being made until it is 100% ready to go so it's a nice surprise for everyone. I understand that products need to be discontinued sometimes, but I agree that they should be warning people or putting a 'goodbye' section on the webpage so people can buy whatever stock is left.

I think I'm going to start buying from a more expensive company, it's worth it for the reliability.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

I just feel they do not respect my time. I have been chained to the computer this weekend, (mostly because I am weak, and can't wait). A company with class would not do this to their customer. I like announcements that are ready, or within days, not weeks and months,.........half years, etc.

You guys are right . Carina needs to wait until things are ready to go , and then announce to the public the release date instead of disappointing all of her customers !

I can't believe what's going on over there - all this love over a website launch gone wrong? If this is any indication on how she runs her business then I might think twice about spending my money there.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

Ok not sticking up for them, yes when companies say thing to excite us and don;t come thru it is disappointing. But EM is not like alot of the MMU companies she is big business. She uses a mfg company, she does not make this stuff like most of the companies do. So witht he pressed maybe they havent got all the bugs out yet in production, and with discontining things, (yes she should post in a clearance section) maybe they don't sell enough to make a batch. I read her article I think it was on Indie Beauty she does well over a millions dollars a year according to her, so not like a lot of the other ones that work from home or out of a brick and motar place and do all the stuff themselves. So maybe her web people/company are having trouble doing all the things she needs because she is world wide. I have a friend in the salon business and I have seen a lot of EM advertisments for salon/spa owners in her trade magazines.

TDZ, I understand what you are saying.

I didn't realise she was pulling in a million a year. If anything I am even more unimpressed with their business technique. I would have sworn she was one of those people running the business out of her kitchen the way she makes her posts sound and the way she is unreliable.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

I'm sort of a 'regular' over at their forum. I have noticed something very strange this weekend. Since the day the new site was suppose to be launched(Fri.), I began seeing many 'newbies' who've never posted there before.

These newbies were posting stuff like they were long time loyal users of EDM products and it didn't seem genuine to me nor did they seem like real 'newbies'. I've been there long enough to notice how real newbies introduce themselves and ask for help finding their perfect shade. You see the progression of finding something new and learning how to use it and liking it.

These suspicious newbies didn't begin posting in this manner. To me they felt like they were 'planted' there to make the the opening of the new site more dramatic. Just like paid actors.

However I could be completely wrong though. I find the whole thing very intertaining in a funny kind of way. Such drama.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

I told myself that the website launch was a way for Carina to prove everyone wrong. Launching the site on time with the new calendar she mentioned, and with new products would prove people wrong.

It's still not up. As much as it is "only" make-up, people stayed up for the new launch--people were excited. The least she could have done was say, "i made a mistake, and it won't be up tonight--go to bed." Instead, she posted every few hours saying it would only be "a little while longer."

I'm tired of waiting a little while longer. I've already gone back to my Lumiere foundation cause it lasts way longer for me, and it's super moisturizing. I forgot how awesome it was, lol. As far as I'm concerned, I've bought my last EM product, at least until they get their act together. I will still participate on the forum, cause I especially love the "natural living" section, but I'm not thrilled with current business practices.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

I've checked a couple times over the weekend because I wanted to see what the new products were and the new site still isn't up. I'm not interested in any of the old products and I'll probably wait for some reviews of the new ones to come in before I buy anything.

The timeline is really slow on things there and the hype runs high. When the first pressed powders came out the page says that new colors will be added every week; that didn't happen. Then I heard how easily they break, and for $12 I can get a nice compact at the drugstore.

They are supposed to have some new pressed eye shadows/blushes that I might be willing to try depending on the price and their reviews (not that I need any).

i completely agree with your comment. i was glued all weekend. i even checked the updates under the NEWS category. i felt like carina stringed us along. she could've left it alone but every few hours she'd be like- ok, we're almost done, we won't include this, we'll launch as is. or- we're going to launch around 12. oh, maybe not 12 but a little after. 6 o'clock rolls around and then it's- we're having lunch/dinner then we'll launch. and that was last night. i blame myself from not just throwing in the towel once it didn't come out friday. i was really excited, but i just ended up very disappointed. i know that they're really busting their butts trying to get it to work at the best time they could, but those updates bugged me because i believe carina meant well, but i think it was the wrong move. please don't smite me for feeling this way. lol.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

It's good that she put up new pics so we can more accurately see the colors. To me the site is not so awesome that it justified the weeks of lead up.

Re: EDM discontinuing products without notice !

Although the new site is nice, but it definetely not worth the fuzz.
The only reason I was waiting for it to see the promised new skin care line, which of course is not there.
Maybe an other 2-3 weeks of everyday promising and then she will puts it up.
I am quite diassapointed.

I agree. It is nice, but for as long as they have been working on it....... You know they have been working on it for months. Not just a few weeks. There are a few things that are a little harder to navigate IMO, but it works. As for the swatches.......I am still a little disappointed. Maybe it is way harder than I think to get accurate ones. Nice, but not worth the hype. If I could, I would totally not read the blog and keep away from the community. My emotions can't handle the disappointment very well.

My ideal site has good product pics, easy to navigate and maybe even swatches on skin. Skintones are different, but way more accurate than a pile of powder IMO. The model pics are nice, but not really necessary unless it is to help you color match.
