Flirty eyes and flirty eyelashes are always in fashion, and today's mascara choices make looking good easier than ever. Whether you choose tried-and-true Maybelline or something quirky and fun from Lancome or Blinc, your eyes can look larger and more fascinating in minutes.

EYELASH CURLERS
Always start with an eyelash curler. The favorite version--with a scissors grip and gentle sponge pads to protect fragile eyelashes--still works well, and almost any brand is fine. Just make certain that the sponge pad is soft and flexible, and clean.

Choose the budget-priced or a slightly pricier version with an attached, lash-separating comb. Or, you may prefer a pinch-free version such as Sephora's "Go Curl" Eyelash Curler.

However, Sephora has entered the field with an innovative new product, the Sephora Professional Mini Heated Lash Curler, and Talika has one as well. If your eyelashes are dyed or naturally dark, the heated curler can provide a long-lasting effect. For safety, most of these heated eyelash curlers offer very low heat--around 99 degrees--close to your natural body temperature.

COLORED MASCARA
Once your eyelashes are curled, it's time to choose mascara. For 2005, color is in! However, this isn't your mother's colored mascara that looked more garish than attractive. Instead, full-lash mascaras offer subtle colors.

Choose a burgundy-black shade to make green or blue eyes look more vivid. Or, try Cargo Mascara Blue to accent brown eyes.

For the most modern approach, steal a trick from TV makeup artists and use your regular mascara on your lashes first, followed by a more vivid color just at the tips of your lashes. For example, Clarins Pure Volume Mascara (violet) can flatter any eye color.

And, if you're trying to choose between color and curl, no decision is necessary: Vincent Longo The Curl Mascara offers both.

When choosing a colored mascara remember this: The color should contrast your eye color, not match it.

MASCARA WITH SHINE
In the old days, natural eyelashes were shiny and "painted" women had matte, clumped eyelashes that looked good only from a distance. Now, you can have dark, long, shiny eyelashes with products such as Anna Sui's Long Lash Mascara. (Her mascaras come in colors as well. Her brown mascara is so flattering on blue and green eyes, it often sells out. And, her blue violet mascara is perfect for brown and hazel eyes.)

EYELASH LENGTHENING PRODUCTS
Eyelash lengthening mascaras continue to improve. Oh, most mascaras are made with tiny fibers to lengthen your lashes. In fact, if you don't want those fibers, it's important to look for mascaras that are designed for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

(Contact lens wearers are fine with some lash-lengthening products, such as the award-winning Lancome Definicils.)

But, for the very longest lashes, try a two-part mascara. The first treatment adds lash-extending fibers and often looks white. Once that layer dries, you'll use a second treatment that colors the lashes black or brown. Early versions of this two-part mascara were very drying for the lashes and hard to remove. Today, those products have been replaced with safer versions, and many makeup lines offer them. In fact, some of them are designed to leave your lashes in better condition than before you put on makeup. However, if you don't want to give up your favorite mascara but still want exceptionally long lashes, you can have the best of both worlds. Smashbox Layer Lash Primer is one very affordable choice that thickens and extends your lashes. Anna Sui's Mascara Primer is actually sold as a primer or as an eyelash conditioner. Once the primer dries, you can use your favorite mascara over it for color.

I currently use Sky high curves mascara by Maybelline and its good but now its getting dry and clumps and flakes way too much.

So now i'm looking for a new mascara,there was a Rimmel one that i was interested in..i cant remember its name now but its the one with a comb instead of bristles..however i read some reviews of it on make up alley and they were bad so i wont buy that.
I've been browsing these threads and i've seen alot of you love Diorshow..so i'm thinking of getting that aslong as it isnt too expensive.

What do you all think of mascara's with combs instead of bristles? are they better?
Is Diorshow worth it?

Just want to mention i'm 14 and dont live in the US so i doubt i can get some really high end mascaras.

I like Dior Diorshow, Imju Fiberwig, and Bare Escentuals Big Tease.

I bought Revlon 3D Extreme and Zhen Sensitive Eyes Mascara on recommendation, but I haven't opened them yet.

I tried Diorshow but it doesn't do much for me. What I do like is Too faced Lash Injection since the extra fine bristles tubes each of my lashes and make them fuller. Another one of my favs is the Bad Gal from Benefit. The big fatty wand gives my lashes a bit of a curl, while lengthening it a bit.

I have heard raves about Fresh Supernova and Sue Devitt's Black Widow as well as Imju's Fiberwig. Will need to check those out at work and see if they work for me. hehe
