New York City Haul!

The majority of you probably saw my previous posts about going to NYC, but if not: last week I went to New York City to do some shopping and visit colleges that I am interested in. It was super fun, but I’m so glad to be home! I came back with a good amount of loot of course. Mainly drugstore products actually, which is really abnormal for me, but they’re still fun! Here’s a little look at some of the products that I picked out during the trip!

There are MAC stores on every corner in NYC! It’s makeup junkie heaven, that’s for sure. The first MAC purchase I made was this MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo in Love Connection. It’s nothing new, but it was something I’ve had my eye on for a while now. One side is a swirl of really light blue, pink and bronze, while the other side is a gorgeous brown bronze shade. Together they make the perfect effortless eye!

I told you guys that I was planning on checking out the new MAC Sheen Supreme products. I thought I would end up getting a gloss, but instead I picked up the Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Blossom Culture! It’s a wonderful medium pink with a tiny hint of coral tones. It’s PERFECT for spring, and the consistency is incredible. It’s a mix between two of my absolute favorite things…MAC lipstick and MAC lipglass!

While getting some snacks at Walgreen’s in Times Square I got two Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. I managed to finally find Peach Parfait, the shade Emma Stone wears in the Lip Butter advertisement. It’s a nice lighter everyday shade. I also went out on a limb and purchased Tutti Frutti. It’s a orange shade that I just couldn’t pass up! The lip butter texture makes this bright color totally wearable for any occasion!

Maybelline’s Dream Bouncy Blush was another drugstore product that I was really wanting to get my hands on. The whole bouncy concept and description was wild to me and something I had never heard of. I picked out the blush in Rose Petal, a pretty soft pink. I was actually really impressed with this blush. It’s cream-like but solid at the same time. It blends in great, and it looks like your own natural glow!

I traveled without shampoo on this trip for two reasons. One being I hate having to pour shampoo into those annoying little airport friendly containers, and the second being I wanted to get a solid shampoo from Lush to use. This plan worked out perfectly, and I ended up picking out (with the help of a Lush employee) Trochomania. The bar is filled with coconut oil and smells amazing! It is recommended for damaged and dry hair and it works really really well!

While traveling I ran out of my powder foundation that I regularly use. I placed an order for some Lioele BB cream samples a few days before, so I didn’t want to drop $30 on a new thing of foundation until I tried it out. I frantically searched up reviews of drugstore foundation and ended up buying the Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin. It was only $9, and it’s amazing! I have never been able to wear liquid bases, but this one has really good coverage and it’s not too heavy on the skin.

Lastly I got the Topshop Lips in Crystal. It’s a lip tint designed to change color to suit your skin tone. There are many products out there that make this same claim, but they really never work. This one puts all of those to shame! My mom, my aunt and I used the lippy and ended up with completely unique shades! So so cool!

What new products have you purchased lately?! Have you tried any of these items that I picked up in NYC? What are your opinions on them?
