I love these eye shadows. I was bit nervous about using mineral eyeshadows since I could just see me getting powder everywhere but once I started playing with them, the colors are just beautiful! I like neutral colors so I don't know how the brighter ones are, but I've been very happy with the samples I've gotten - you get quite a bit in sample pots! My favorite color so far is Sophisticate. It's a slightly shimmery rich brown. I like that LaurEss has colors from matte to shimmery so you can decide what level of shimmer you want. I like the Pearl Lights and Gem Lights. They have a creamy texture, lasts all day, and are not flat colors. The Gem Lights are the perfect amount of shimmer you can still wear during the day or glam it up for evening.
Pros:lovely colors, great amount for the price Cons:
I absolutely LOVE them! They are the BEST mineral e/s I've ever tried.
Normally
mineral e/s are so powdery; you dip your e/s brush and sweep the
minerals into the brush, tap and a ton falls back off. You have to
constantly dip and apply, etc.
The way I can describe LaurEss
e/s is this: they almost appear to be like if the powder was dampened
by water. When I sweep my brush into the minerals, they really "stick"
and hold onto the brush. When I sweep the color on my eyelids, no
excess minerals fall off. The color is so rich when it goes on. You
don't have to build up any layers to get great coverage. They blend
very well too. No fading or wearing-off either. They stay just as
vibrant throughout the day as when first applied. Beneath any mineral
e/s I use Revlon Colorstay e/s in a nude tone.
After buying
over 20 e/s samples, I purchased a f/s e/s trio. With the 15% off sale it equaled
out to $8 a piece. I figure that if I have to reapply throughout the
day those cheaper $4 e/s, this isn't such a bad deal after all.
If the price is too much for you, Colorful Sprinkles offers LaurEss products in 1/2 sizes.
