I REALLY like this lipstick, besides the fact that i was looking for a deeper red this lipstick is awesome. It lasts me ALL day and never dries out my lips. I also love the chocolaty smell. I will definitely but this color again.... mac lipsticks rock!
Pros:*Doesnt dry lips
*Great smell
*Long Lasting! Cons:*Shade is a little light
MAC NC25-30, Normal skin, Brown eyes, Not Acne-Prone but Freckles
MAC's description: Pale muted peachy-beige
Myth is a good lipstick for really toning down the lips. Apply a little to tone down lips, or more for the completely nude lips. Some nudes are too pinky or yellow for me, but Myth is perfect. Great with a smokey eye.
Do be careful to not apply too much or you will look like a corpse.
I also strongly believe that finding a good nude takes time, because it really depends on your skintone and undertones.
This is my favorite lipstick shade from MAC. It's a great color to use when you want to tone down the color of your lips.
MAC's description: Light honey-beige toned with rose.
It's a neutral nude that is darker than my skintone (nc25-30), and still has a some color in it so I don't look like a corpse. It has enough color in it, that it is great for smokey eyes or even lighter eye makeup.
Because it is a matte finish, it is very pigmented, and it is quite long-lasting, but can be very drying. I like the matte look, but sometimes I slather on a thick balm like Rosebud's Strawberry Lip Balm and then apply the lipstick over it, so that it has a glossier finish.
This is LE from the Heatherette 2008 collection. I think it's an amplified cream. It's a really cool pink with a little bit of lavender. Really bright and unnatural but it looks really good on with purple and green eyeshadows. It kind of makes my lips feel a bit dry so lipbalm underneath is a must for me. I love the bright pink packaging it's in.
I like the deep Red effect of this lipstick but soon after applying it I can feel that it gets really dry on my lips and my skin onmy lips starts to peel. I then always use a gloss over on under this lipstick..its too dry
These lipsticks are very creamy and moisurizing with a pretty glossy finish to them. They are NOT sticky though. They are packaged in a long slim lipstick tube, and the color kissable is a bright hot pink color. I noticed while the lipsticks do last long, the only con would be that they could last a little longer.
Pros:Creamy, moisturizing, glossy look.. but not sticky. Cons:Could stay on a little bit longer!
MAC's new Slimshines are really nice. They go on so smoothly, and feel so creamy and moisturizing on your lips. They have that pretty look and finish of a gloss, but not the stickiness to it. Packaging is a long slim tube. Long Stem Rose is a pretty baby pink color, with a little bit of gold pearl. Totally looks like a pink rose. This lipstick is a frost. The only thing I noticed... it does last a while, but could last longer.
Pros:creamy, moisturizing, looks glossy. Cons:wish it stayed on longer!
MAC's new slimshines are totally great! I love the fact that this lipstick feels so creamy and moisturizing on your lips, and goes on so smoothly. It totally has the look and feel of a gloss, but isn't as sticky as one. The packaging is a long slim tube, and bare is a pretty neutral pink with subtle gold pearl. The lipstick does last long, but could last longer.
Pros:Moisturizing, creamy, smooth. Great color! Cons:Could be a little more long-wearing.
the color is very sheer and natural, actually i use this as a base for my lipglass. but on it's own, the color's pretty sheer, it looks like i didn't put anything on.
Pros:nice packaging, good base for lipglass Cons:maybe too sheer on it's own
This is from the Balloonacy collection. I usually don't like frosts and I don't like shimmery lipsticks, but this is a pretty rose with golden shimmer. I think it looks quite nice when applied lightly on the lips.
Don't be fooled by the color in the tube ladies! It looks like an intense purple lipstick, but when you actually put it on it's a lovely sheer glossy purple. I love that it is lustre lipstick, you don't necessarily have to put a gloss on top.
Pros: Cons:not for those who want intense purple lips
I purchased Rubia on a whim. Nude lip colors were never a big thing for me since I have fairly pigmented lips. However, Rubia has changed that. Described as a 'Midtone brown peach with gold pearl (Lustre)', this lipstick the perfect 'nude' for my NC25, yellow-orange (Px) skin tone. It has just the right amount of peachiness to prevent the washed out look.
I own similar shades, e.g., Viva Glam V (l/s) and Hug Me. However, for me, compared Rubia , Viva Glam V was too frosty, and Hug Me was too brown & blah. The lustre formula is a definite plus as well. Rubia looks really nice layered with gloss shades like: Flowerosophy (LE, ultra-light apricot with pearl) or Viva Glam V (neutral pink with pearl). I would definitely purchase again.
i'd describe it as a deep intense and rich reddish pink with gold shimmers. wonderful color. i'm not used to such deep colors on my lips, but this is definitely a great lipstick to have in a makeup bag. i love the packaging, so recognizable. i'm glad i bought it !
This is a nice natural lipstick. It looks like my natural lip color, only, a tiny bit more rosy. It's great for those days when your lips look a bit pale and you just want them to look natural. Another color that is very similar to this is Covergirl's Incredifull Lipcolor in Warm and Rosy.
This is the only item from the Balloonacy collection that I really liked. I love this color so much, I might get backups. It lightens my natural lip color just a bit. It goes on a tad lighter than it looks in the tube. It's a really pretty natural/nude pinky/peachy color that's not shimmery.
Blankety is a really pretty color. It works well as a nude color if you're looking for a slightly darker nude. If other MAC lipsticks aren't drying for you, you should give Blankety a try, especially if other nude colors have been too light for you.
