this is the finishing powder EDM recommends for oily skin.  While it does a good job of controlling oil IMO, it does not control shine at all.

Pros: controls oil well
Cons: does not control shine on face

Everday Minerals' Finishing Dust is supposed to be a translucent mineral veil that helps your makeup last longer and absorb oil. I do agree that it is translucent, I can't even see it on my skin after I apply it! However, I don't think it really helps to make my makeup last or to keep my skin matte, but I do have very oily skin so most products that claim to be matte and shine-free really don't last long on me. So it's hard for me to tell how well this finishing dust works -- maybe it works well for more normal skin, but I'm not sure if it's doing much for me. I also don't think this helps prevent rub-off, I've noticed that my EDM foundation and finishing dust rubs off much easier than my previous liquid foundations when I touch my face or press my blotting sheets too hard.

However, it is nice that it is translucent and an affordable price -- my previous powder was 3 times the price and not the right color for my skin even though it claimed to be translucent! So I will probably continue to use this, at least for now.

UPDATE: I've decided that the Finishing Dust really isn't doing anything for me. It doesn't control oil and it doesn't prevent rub off. Plus, I've noticed that even though it's very silky and finely milled, the powder doesn't blend into my skin well -- you can see the grains of powder just sitting on my skin after I apply it with my regular powder brush, and I've never had that problem with other loose powders. Since I am less than thrilled with their foundations also, I am looking into other brands of mineral makeup now.

Pros: Translucent, good price
Cons: Doesn't seem to make my makeup last any longer on my very oily skin, does not prevent rub off, does not blend into skin well
