This powder is great. It is long lasting, very blendable, healthy for sensitive skin since it's hypoallergenic, and it last all day. It doesn't fade as the day goes. The only bad thing is the bad Maybelline packaging. My lids are constantly breaking off.
Pros:Stays on all day, great for sensitive skin Cons:Bad packaging.
Well....what do I say about this. This is probably not the best powder you'll ever try in your life. It's part of Maybelline's new "pure" line that is made up of more water and is supposed to be very light. The big thing for this powder is the "shine free finish". To me, it seems to be pretty average in a few ways-- I'll elaborate....
-Color- I believe there were only 3 color options and I went with the middle one...It doesn't seem to be that great of a match for my skin tone but I know either of the others wouldn't work. So you're a little confined with this line.
-Packaging- It's in a rectangular flip top compact and it has a teensy little not-even-a-sponge type of thing. (Ok as a nose blotter, but takes awhile to get this all over your face) Underneath the sponge is an equally small mirror--when I look in the mirror I can literally only see one facial feature at a time. So maybe if you're an elf this will work for you, but not for me.
-Purpose- To me, an extremely lightweight, shine-controlling powder such as this is definitely an "on-the-go" product. However the only time I am able to use this is in front of my makeup mirror because taking this with me as my "mirrored compact" in my purse won't work--mirror is too tiny. So do you get why this is confusing? I tend to have a pretty shine free face immediately after I do my makeup, so it's not crucial to use the powder then. And if it's not convenient packaging and you can' t take it with you....what is this good for?
Bottom line-- The stuff gets rid of shine and it's very sheer. Would be way easier to use with a decent sized mirror so it could be more "on-the-go" friendly.
Pros:gets rid of shine, not super long lasting in that sense though. I kinda like the cute sea-foam green on the compact...most likely the reason i'm keeping this around. I'm a dork. Cons:limited color selection, packaging stinks, not very user friendly with the tiny mirror
I really enjoy this product, although at first I was skeptical of the concept of a "powder foundation". If you're not using a foundation on a particular day and just want to go with a concealer and powder, this is the powder you should use because if gives you more coverage than a typical pressed powder. It also has SPF 15 in it.
It blends easily with the sponge it gives you and the color is very natural on my skin (I have #40 Soft Cameo). It also seems to stay put quite well. My complaint on the packaging is that I could use a bigger mirror in the compact, but that's no biggie. If you're curious about powder foundations, give this one a try .
