I am fed up with Maybelline. This is my second blush color from them that is a dud. Little pigmentation to speak of and product fallout has made me hate their blushes. The packaging is a bit of a pain to open, and I don't like it. I didn't use the brush with it, so I have no opinion on it. I have light to medium skin with yellow under tones, and I just didn't think this was pigmented enough. In the pan it is a medium/dark purple/berry colored blush. I will not purchase this(or any other Maybelline Expertwear blush) again.
Pros:No bad smell Cons:Everything about the product
I was extremely disappointed in this blush. The pigmentation is very poor. I have light to medium skin with yellow undertones, and I applied and applied and hardly got any color. The color in the pan is a medium pink, with a faint peach under tone(the picture of the pan by itself is more representative of the true color). Another reviewer likened it to Milani Luminous, but I think luminous is a far superior blush(I have included a picture comparing the two blushes). The product produces a lot of fallout. It also seems to leave a few particles of glitter when applied. I never used the brush that came with it, so I have no opinion on it. I don't like the packaging either. It can be a bit of a pain to open. I didn't get any breakouts, but I only wore it once. It didn't last long. Overall, I actually hated this blush. WOULD NOT repurchase.
Pros:No bad smell Cons:Kind of glittery, almost no pigmentation, not long lasting
The color itself worked beautifully with my skintone. I wish the pigment was a bit finer for smooth and flawless coverage. The color payoff was good and not too chalky. I wouldn't buy it again simply because blushes last a long time for me, and it would be worth it to buy a more luxurious brand next time just out of curiosity.
Pros:great selection of colors to choose from Cons:texture is not as fine as I prefer
Rose Silk is a light peach color with a hint of pink, and it has only a tiny bit of shimmer. I think it looks very natural on my pale skin, and I like how it's not very shimmery because I don't need to add shimmer to my already shiny, oily skin! The pigmentation seems pretty good, though if you like really bold blush you'll need to apply this two or three times!
The color reminds me a lot of Milani Luminous but without the golden shimmer that Luminous has. So if you like the color of Luminous but don't like the shimmer, you may want to try Rose Silk!
I think it costs about $5, so it's definitely worth a try!
I love this blush. I have to have this particular blush for dance performances (it's required), and I use it for other purposes as well just because I like it. It's not all that pigmented, but it gives a smooth layer of a gorgeous purple/pink/tan/brown mix color. It is very versatile on my olive skin, but I just don't reach for it as much as I reach for my Milani and L'Oreal Feel Naturale blushes. If I ever run out and I still did dance at that age, I'd repurchase.
Pros:color, versatile on olive skin, I'm assuming price? Cons:I don't use it that much
yay for this blush! Dream Mousse blush in Coffee Cake might as well be termed as a bronzer. The shade is kind of a deep peachy/tan/bronze and it has teeny gold flecks in it...I think this is something any skin tone could wear because it goes on very light. I wouldn't use this as my only blush because it is mainly sheer and shimmery. It's lovely to top off a look with but I would rely on a more pigmented powder blush as your main source of color. It's blendability is great and I also use this on top of my brow bones up to my eyebrows to highlight that area. Like I said, this shade makes a great bronzer and works great all over your face!
Pros:awesome shimmer and lightweight color Cons:probably can't be used alone as a blush
I bought this because I usually wear peachy colors. It looked pretty in the store. It has a soft consistancy, and goes on very smooth-it was a bit light and way shimmery for me. I gave it to my Daughter.
This is the first blush I have tried, aside from the years-old, "blush"-smelling powder formulas my mother would dust over my cheeks and nose for my dance recitals -yuck. Since then, I've developed somewhat of an aversion to traditional blushes. I bought this because it looked interesting, and I loved the colour. It is a pretty bright pink, but if you just use a tiny dab, it brightens up your whole face. It's not oil-free, but so far I haven't had a problem with that. Although I would buy this again, I'm not sure I'll ever have to as this stuff lasts forever!
Pros:Pretty colour, neat formula, no noticeable "blush" scent, a little bit goes a long way Cons:Takes a few tries to figure out how to use it, a bit pricey for drugstore, not oil-free
I
bought a Dream Matte Mousse foundation about a month ago, but didn't
start using it until last week. I fell in love with the texture,
blendability and versatility. On a late night shopping trip to Rite-Aid
(the only drug store where you can return opened make-up just because
you don't like it, no questions asked) I decided to give the Dream
Mousse Blush a try. I've recently developed a disturbing obsession with
blush because I can't seem to get it right - I end up looking in a
mirror hours later and going "What the heck was I thinking?"
Anyway,
I don't have that problem with this blush. Its hard to mess up. It goes
on so sheer, giving just a hint of color. Add another coat and the hue
becomes more solid, but hardly overwhelming. The mousse-to-powder
texture is pretty genius. I tap it along my cheekbones with my finger
and then use a blush brush to build and blend.
Give
it a try, you don't have much to lose. I got mine full price for $6.19
(cheap!) and I'm sure that your local drug store will run it on sale
every now and again.
Pros:cool texture, sheer, very blendable Cons:right now the color selection is limited
I love this blush. It has become one of my all time favorites. Prior to giving this a try I was a life long powder blush user b/c no other form seemed to work for me. I have combination pale skin w/pink under tones & although this blush looks really dark in the jar it works like a dream on my face, providing a natural looking flush. It blends easily & although initially sheer it is very buildable. I love the texture too. It stays put for hours and hours. The only thing I don't really like is the glass jar packaging but I don't really have any better ideas. I will definitely repurchase..
Pros:Great Texture, Wears Well, Natural Flush Cons:Packaging is a little clunky.
it is one of the best and cheapest. It blends well and gives this natural blushing color. I got two different colors one is very light and the other more towards deep plum. two different colors and both are great. Both make you look natural, like you did not try to hard to make yourself beautiful. !!!!!!!!! RECOMEND!!!
I love this blush! It blends soooooooo easily and has such a light, creamy feel. This color is a bright red-pink that's very close to my natural blushing color. I also have the Soft Plum but haven't tried it yet. As far as formulation is concerned though, Maybelline got this one right!
Pros:texture, natural look Cons:jar is very small!
Gentle Rose gives me a cute natural NARS Orgasm-like glow. I'm more impressed by the color than the formulation. It goes on smooth and comes with a soft brush, but it seemed like I had to put an awful lot on to get decent color intensity. My thinking is that the powder is too loose and you probably lose a lot of it when brushing it on. I got this as a bonus with Wet Shine Fusion in Blush Boost, and they are a good combination.
Pros:Glowy look, soft brush included Cons:Inferior color intensity; have to use a lot of product
A very nice mauve color which has almost a 'brownish' look to it. Looks somewhat dark in the package - but goes on sheer, and looks very natural, almost that of a flushed 'worked out' look.
Seashell pink is a very pretty warm pink. It is very sheer and hardly shows up on me which is why I gave it a 2. I think on someone paler than me, this could be really pretty though!
Pros:pretty color Cons:too sheer and light for darker tones
This is a sheer matte peach blush from Maybelline's Spring 2003 collection. Not sure if they made it part of the regular line or not..but anyways. Yes..this is a matte peach that has the tendency to go on a tad chaulky if it is not blended insanely well. The color is nothing spectacular and for a few bucks more you could find a much better matte peach shade.
