MˇAˇC 'Mineralize' Skinfinish Duo I just bought this in light and love it. It adds a perfect shimer to my fair skin. I use it over high beam by Benefit.
Pros:It is a large compact and easy to use. Cons:no mirror
This is an all time HG for me. I go through phases of using other highlighters, but Shimpaigne is something I always come back to.
It´s a beautiful glowy golden-bronze color, which gives your cheeks a very natural, believable glow. I get compliments on my "glow" all the time when I wear Shimpaigne.
Too bad this is limited edition. MAC brings it back every once in a while though, as a re-promote with a new collection. Get it while it´s hot! ;-)
This is my favorite Beauty Powder! I use it as a blush because it´s pigmented enough, but still subtle. You almost can´t OD with this stuff. It´s also a little bit shimmery, or glowy.
Overall, a nice sublte glowy peachy color for fair to medium skintones
My info for reference:
MAC NC25-30, Normal skin, Brown eyes, Not Acne-Prone but Freckles
Lightscapade is my favorite MSF. In the pan, it looks like swirls of soft pastel colors, but applied, it is a lovely highlight. Not sparkley, not glittery, but just a soft white sheer sheen. Great on the cheekbones, browbone, pretty much any area that can use some highlighting. Also ok for daytime, as it is not too shimmery.
It was LE, I think it came out with the Danse collection. As of June 2008, it has been going for about $35.
This beauty powder is very shimmery and pretty! It's a really nice peach shade and looks great on! I use it as a blush, but a lot of girls could probably use it as a highligher on top of blush.
this color is like a champagne, much more skin toned than other highlighting powders i have tried, therefore making it look so much more natural than other highlighters, which can be very in your face.
at night, and day events, it works perfect in combination with my MAC bronzer.
Pros:perfect "skintoned" highlighter, very soft Cons:i think it was a summer L/E so i dont know if i can get it again.
What a gorgeous peachy colour this MSF is. Unlike some of the other MSF made this one isn't too glittery. Instead of looking like a pile of glitter on your cheeks it gives a gorgeous peachy glow to my NC35 skin, looks extra nice paired with a nice peach blush
I love shooting star deffo one of my fave MSF ever (wish i got a backup). I'm NC35 and this gives such a gorgeous bronzed look on my cheeks, does look kind of dark in the pan but if applied lightly it isn't so dark on the skin.
I love having a tanned/bronzey look and this is deffo great for that.
A great hilgihter. Its a nude biege color. Great to use all over the face or over blushes or as a eyeshadow eyebrow hilighter. A fabalous colour. Gives Increadble Glwoy, the most glowy MSF>
Pros:Great Nude Color Cons:I do not like the packaging easy to break
Out of all these Mac Mineralized Skinfinshes I love Petticoat the best. Can use as a hlighter and a Blush. Just a Fabalous color. Out of all the MSF Mac has come out with this is my favorite. I would defenitely pay the bucks on ebay to get it. This shade Flaters all and Margin + Petticoat = Fabalous Tan, bronzey look.
This MSF is everything MAC says it is! I'm already thinking of buying a backup. On my NC44-45 skintone this gives me an amazing sunkissed kind of glow, with a subtle golden sheen or shimmer that reminds me of how J-lo's skin used to look when she did the spray-on tans. No foundation or powder needed, the MSF gives enough coverage to even out the complexion IMO. I think this would be a really nice one to dust on the shoulders and chest too ...
Hmm... I'm not sure why these are all grouped together, but I'll bite.
New Vegas: This is one of my favorite highlighters. The golden sheen looks very natural with my coloring and gives me a pretty glow.
Naked You: This might sounfd crazy, but I use this almost exclusively to highlight my decollatage and cleavage. It just makes my body look luminescent.
Me: NC43, GGG, Green Eyes, Jet Black Straight Hair, Combination/Sensitive Skin
IMO, MSFs are one of MAC's best products. These limited edition baked
half domes are amazing. I have 9 out the 10 that have come out (darn
Pleasureflush... you will be mine!). The three that I have listed here
(Shimpagne/New Vegas/You) work great as cheek high lighters and brow
high lighters. I apply these with my MAC #187 brush and they give my
face a certain glow. I use Shimpagne for a more natural look, New
Vegas when I want to make my face "pop" some more and You when I am
looking for some shimmer in my face. MSF's rock!
thank god i didn't pay for this (got it in a swap) because i just don't see how this could flatter ANYONE without looking like a disco ball.
on mac's website, it describes this as a "gilded peach bronze". i see the gilded peachy bronze in there, although it's kinda hard with all that GLITTER over it.
i wish i could tell you how long it wears, how it wears, but i honestly couldn't keep it on for more than 2 seconds.
i have light skin, so maybe that's why it wouldn't work well, but like i said, i just don't even see how this could flatter darker skin tones, either.
i'd save this and just use it for halloween or something.
Pros:none Cons:price, too much glitter, wish it had a see-through top like most mac face products
it was released with the lingerie collection and since it would be my first msf, i was excited, although i wasn't TOO crazy about the color and how it would look on me, although it's a beautiful.
i liked the nice, pink flush it gave to my cheeks, but i noticed the little golden "veins" in it didn't show up on my skin or went on my brush (i use the mac's 187 for this). that's what i wanted the most outta this because i like blushes that give a golden sheen.
after trying this about 2 times, i kinda gave up and forgot about it. then, on the forum one day, a user (joyeuxx) recommended spraying the brush with fix+ first and then swiping the brush on petticoat and applying it to the skin. finally, i saw the golden sheen and it just lookd soooo gorgeous.
i used this on my cousin for an occassion she had and it looked great on her, as well. i think this shade suits everyone. it can be used alone or over a blush to enhance it.
because it was limited edition, i wouldn't go outta my way to find another one or pay the crazy amounts on ebay for it. it's beautiful, but not that beautiful ;)
