I went to Nordstrom last week to check out the new anniversary sale collections...Everything is SO nice!! One of the new items out are the highly anticipated Paint Pots.
As a faithful lover of the original Paints, I was really looking forward to this new style. I have not been let down. There are so many wonderful colors...I think there are probably about ten or more shades, and then there are tree or four exclusive colors made expressely for the Nordstrom sale. They are all beautiful.
There are three different types of 'finishes'; Cream, Pearl, and the ubiquitous Frost.
While I loved all of them, I had already done quite a bit of makeup shopping, so I had to limit myself to one. I chose Indianwood. This is a gorgeous metallic bronze. I'm telling you, it could not be prettier!!!! I am a fan of bronze, gold, brown and copper eyeshadows, so this was an easy choice for me.
I have worn this a few times since I bought it, and it doesn't dissapoint. I wore it as a base for a bronze color eyeshadow. There was a subtle change in the color of the eyeshadow, but I'm not complaining, because it was beautiful. Not only did it make the eyeshadow more vibrant, but it lasted ALL DAY....through sweat and even swimming!!!!! Yesterday, I put this on intending to put another color over it. I decided it was SO nice, I simply wore it by itself with a little black liner. It brought out the blue in my eyes. SO PRETTY was this color, I couldn't stop looking at my eyes in the mirror!!!
Another benefit is the new packaging...The original paints were nice, but sometimes the Paint would "leak" out of the tube, leaving a lot of wasted product. It also had a tendency to dry out near the cap...And, speaking of which, the black cap was so small, I frequently found myself searching among my makeup for it when I was done with the Paint. Well, I can say MAC really took care of all these problems; none of them will happen with these new Paints. Just be sure to keep the cap screwed on tightly all the time. Some people have been worried about these drying out quickly...I think as long as the cap is kept on tightly after each use, it won't be an issue. And if it is, MAC is very flexible with their return policy.
The consistancy is so creamy and blendable...I think I've found a new love!!! I fully intend on getting a few more of these babies!! They have a few neutral colors, and some more vibrant colors...I think I'll get a few of each!!! Priced at $16.50, one can afford to get a few of them.
This is seriously a makeup staple every woman should have; and certainly every MAC lover!!!!
