I received a sample Spray of this variation off the EL Pleasures line with one of the free gift packs I was given at the ELO counter and was very eager to try it out since i had received countless emails from Estee Lauder about their new scent, and needless to say, their promotional ads did look very attractive. I'm not much of a sweets person, but bright cheery colors and cute stuff gets to me all the same.
So, I was so excited to get home and spray it on, convinced my hubby, who is into sweets, would smell me and be all over me, like I was one big brownie, or chocolate cupcake, hehe.
I don't know, maybe I have a heavy hand, or perhaps too much experience with cheap perfumes, but I couldn't quite get the hand of how little or much to spray. Too much, and I was gagging, the sweetness giving me a headache, and and the scent turning into an alcoholic swirl. To little and it dissipated into nothing but a frosting residue.
That, and hubby wasn't too thrilled about it either. He said on me at least, that it seemed to turn into bad fruit and flowers, so I didn't wear it for much longer after that.
Pros: Nice marketability.
Cons: Won't work for everyone.
I love this perfume. So hard to describe what it smells like. People have told me it smells, powdery and sweet. I didn't think it was too sweet when I first sprayed it, but after it dries down it is amazing.
This is the description from Estee Lauder:
Bouquet of violets and lilies, roses and lilacs, marigold and orange blossoms. Blended with expertise and creativity, the fragrance is warmed with a rich, woody base and brightened with a touch of citrus.
Review on: Fragrances Estee Lauder Estee Lauder Beyond Paradise
I like this scent, but I don't wear it often enough to repurchase. Whenever my mom buys EL Pleasures, the GWP always seems to include a deplux spray of Beyond Paradise (which she gives to me) Since I have small amounts available, I have no motivation to purchase this.
This really does smell very tropical, but no in an exotic fruit kind of way. Its almost like the scent of the air when your in a lush part of the jungle in Hawaii. There's hints of coconuts, exotic flowers, and maybe the sightest hint of exotic fruit.
This is my mom's signature scent and I would buy this over and over again for her. It really works with her body chemistry and just smells so good. Its a very fresh floral that is feminine and romantic. There's nothing heavy or musky about
I will admit that a large part of my attachment to this scent could be based solely on the fact that it strongly reminds me of my mother.
Review on: Men - Frangrances Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men
Estee Lauder Pleasures for Men is the only newer cologne that I like on my husband. Pleasures is second place after Davidoff Cool Water which I have reviewed and is my all time favorite.
This is how Estee Lauder advertises this men's fragrance:
A clean, crisp fragrance that perfectly captures the best times in life.
Fragrance Type: Woody/Fresh
Top Notes: Citrus Effervescence, Nectarine, Sky Air Accord Middle Notes: Pimento, Coriander Seed, Red Ginger Base Notes: Sandalwood, Iridescent Ebony, Deep Forest Moss
My opinion is that the cologne is a warm musky type scent that is not overly strong and no real note predominates. Just a very nice men's fragrance. I love the packaging simplicity, nice simple spray bottle with a silvertone top. A 3.4 oz. bottle for $49.50 is comparable to most department store fragrances. Recommend and will repurchase.
This is without fail my favorite scent to wear during the summer. I usually switch scents a lot during the winter, but I almost always wear pleasures during the summer. Its not overpowering, yet the scent doesn't seem to disappear within a few hours like most of the ones that are out there right now. I always get compliments when I wear it (that's reason enough to love it-I'm such a sucker for compliments!) I love it, and I go back to it every year.
Review on: Fragrances Estee Lauder Pleasures Exotic
I love the exotic take-off on this beautiful original. Has a little bit of tropical, mango cocktail thrown in to the original floral based scent. Smells so inviting and is reminiscent of being on a tropical island. Lovely stuff!
Pros: Beautiful, tropical scent.
Cons: Fades after a few hours.
I love all the Estée Lauder perfumes. This one is very feminine, sort of smells like a lilac bouquet at springtime. Lovely scent and romantic perfume. Great stuff.
Pros: Very feminine, kind of innocent spring time, floral scent.
Cons: Doesn't last that long.

Soft, not too strong. Smells strongly of flowers; it is a floral scent. It has a really clean scent. It’s just light enough and it doesn’t give me a headache or make me feel sick. This is a sample but I hope to purchase and own this perfume one of these days. It’s a bit expensive for me though.
