Cheerleading Hairstyle?

What about a ponytail with a little more volume?

Normally you'll want something that'll keep your hair out of your face.  Either some version of a half pony tail or a full pony tail.  When I did cheer competitions, it typically was curled pony tails.  But if you want to do something different, you can do mini braids into a pony tail or half tail.

Honestly though the most cohesive thing to make you look like a team is to do something that everybody can manage.  (Our teams always did a pony tail with the same 1 or 2 team colored ribbons.)

Is it going by UCA rules? Have you tried watching UCA videos on Youtube or ESPN for ideas? What about American Cheerleading?

The 1st image is cute but against most rules because of those flowers need to be clipped in, leave out the flowers and the basket weave style works. The second one would work better because those ribbons can come with elastic holders. Depending on the actual rules of the competition even ribbons can disqualify a team. When my eldest was on dance team they couldn't have anything but rubber bands in their hair at some of the competitions.

Oh, I probably should have mentioned that. Yes, I was definitely speaking of the hair style itself (different ways of getting the hair tied up and back), not of the ribbons and flowers that were added.  (obviously those would have an easier chance of not only falling out, but also possibly causing harm to the other girls if it got caught on someone during a stunt.)

The standard pony tail always worked for us though.
 

My only suggestion is a ponytail. Sorry I can`t think of any other styles.

Curious to know if the competition has passed and what she ended up doing.
