MyGlam - April bag - Page 21

I received my bag yesterday and I have to say that I am pretty excited.. it has been my best bag so far! I got the woodstock eyeliner, which is great because I really wanted a hot pink eyeshadow-pencil.. I have never had anything like it, when I have plenty of black, brown, blue, green and purple eyeliners already! I tried it today with black mascara and it really made my brown eyes pop :)

I' ve never tried falsies but it would be interesting to try at least once.. it will be tricky to figure out how though :/ I wasn't very excited about the lip quench because I just got it as a free gift in a dermstore purchase a few days ago, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried it yesterday... it was not sticky at all, had a pretty light pink tint, and it was moisturizing and very thick so that you only have to use a little bit and it doesn't all come out at once when you press the tube to create a mess like all liquid lip glosses do! I think I am going to use both of them :)

The brushes are very pretty and seem like high quality.. much better than last month's brush!! Overall, for the $10 I am very pleased this month ;)

Hi ladies :)  I am new to this thread as I have never posted here before but from time to time stop by and read what everyone has to say! I am posting because I have some items I am hoping to trade that I won't use from the My Glam bags I've received.

Last month I received the 3Lab Cleansing Foam and am very acne prone so I do not plan to use it. Also I have not used the crease brush, or the eyeshadow and eyeliner brush - I did write to My Glam about the smell that seemed to come from the crease brush and they are supposed to send me a new one. I was under the impression it was synthetic and was hoping all of the brushes would be - however, after reading through this thread, I know that is not the case and I am kind of bummed about it. I prefer to only use synthetic brushes BUT I do not want these to go to waste just because I don't feel comfortable using them and I now feel horrible for requesting a replacement be sent. :(

If you are interested, I would love to trade the brush case (which closes quite awkwardly.. not gonna lie! lol) and the three brushes (if I end up receiving the replacement after all) and if you think you can effectively wash the previous brush or air it out you are welcome to it as well.

Please let me know if anyone is interested, just hoping for something I can use and at the same time would like these items to find a new home :)

Took a break from pretending to be productive and wrote my MyGlam April review. Although I think it is the best bag that I've received yet (first bag was Jan) Im still happy that I canceled. Nothing wowed me, other than the UD, but I could have bought the entire Electric set for $19 if I wanted to.

My full review is up on my blog: http://mesjoiesdevivre.blogspot.com/2012/04/myglam-april-2012.html

OH YEAH! I definitely remember you!! :D We had a super long convo on the MyGlam wall, teehee~but I completely agree. I hate the timeline update-it's so....yucky and gives me a headache looking through it. I think I mentioned on the wall post before, but my name's Sandy! :) I had to deactivate my facebook account due to school and trying not to facebook stalk, haha, but use my mom's account to kind of stay in touch with reality~

I've spent hours on Dermstore and did not find anything I need (besides the gud line from Burt's Bee but I don't want 2 bottles of each scent!)

Plus I've spent over $50 on UD's sale so I don't feel like spending another $30 after tax on Dermstore, so.....

I gave away the Dermstore coupon :) Saved me from the temptation of spending more!

I got Woodstock if anyone is interested in trading...

I love my glam bag! I got the eyeliner in "ransom". And I was kinda like "lip stuff again?!" but I have to admit, its great. I had chapped lips all week, I put all kinds of stuff on it and nothing happened, I used this stuff for 2 days and they're all healed up now. Very happy with this bag.

Hey guys.  I got my bag the other day and there was no UD liner in it.  Everyone was supposed to get one, right?  I got the 2 brushes, the false lashes, and the dermstore lip product, but the liner was no where in sight, anywhere in the bag, package, etc. and it was sealed up.    I know some of you are familar with their customer serivce, will they send me one if i contact them?

Thanks girls!

Yup, you'll need to email them.

Thanks.  :)  I was going to anyway but I just didn't know if they'd send it out to me or not, it varies from company to company as you know.  Thanks again, I'm going to go find their customer service address.

I just got my bag and I'm really happy with it...

I got the black UD liner, the red lashes and everything else it was supposed to come with...

It was realy weird not having a ton of coupons and papers in it, but I kinda like it...Straight to the point!

The bag is ugly as sin, but I just have them thrown in a drawer until I need them for travel or something, so no biggie.  I also didn't find a strange smell like allot of other people have.

I was meh about the Lip Quench and then I used it. Holy cow this stuff is good! It feels great and stayed on while I ate and drank. It feels fantastic. I will likely rebuy this stuff. That alone is worth my $10!

I'm sad I don't like the lip quench since everyone seems to love it. I think it is way too sticky.

My favorite product is turning out to be the Lip Quench.  It tastes somewhat sweet, plumps up my lips and makes them feel so soft -and a little goes a long way.  It's not sticky or glossy and it seems to absorb into the lip.  And the best thing is after it wears off (takes awhile too!  Even if I eat and drink from soda cans all day!) my lips don't feel drier and 'craving' more like with some balms.  It actually feels like the dryness and chapping of my lips is being treated.  I will mention that I massaged the tube like CRAZY and rolled it between my hands before I applied in case like the purlisse it was thick or had separated in the tube, and the heat from rolling it between my palms helps it go on smoother.  So I had little issue getting any product out and it smelled very sweet instead of plastic-y.

I am seriously considering making a dermstore purchase to get the free product, and maybe add it to my regular "make-up grocery list."  I've just never had a lip balm work so well.

The UD liner in Ransom was a bit of a disappointment.  It goes on as a lighter, warmer shade than the pencil looks (which is a dark, robust purple) and doesn't apply as smoothly as the brighter shades -some parts of the line are more pigmented than others.  It didn't apply at all to my waterline either -and I'm not too keen on patting eyeshadow on my waterline to increase the color or staying power as some on the FB suggested.  I've never had this happen with other shades of UD liner -I don't know if its just the pen or this color.  The lashes were a bit hard to apply.  They were so 'soft' that they were hard to place on the lid because they kept flopping around and hitting other parts of the eye while I tried to put them on.  They mention pre-shaping them before you apply, but these lashes could not hold a shape.

I seriously cannot believe that the Lip Quench is my favorite product out of the three.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how should I use this liner? laughing.gif I'm still new to makeup icon_redface.gif

Is that the green one? In my opinion: Wear it like any other eyeliner, but thin on the upper lash line or very lightly on the lower lash line with a black liner on the top lash line. Green liner looks great with a neutral eyeshadow, like taupe or brown.

Thanks for the advice =] I tried it yesterday and it looked amazing ^______^ I think I might be buying the electric set for junkie =X

I'm not digging the Lip Quench that much. I can get it to work okay if I take the smallest amount and spread it with my finger, but either way, the texture itself is too sticky for my taste. I didn't like the Purlisse that much either, but I'm more likely to finish that one up. But my lip treatment of choice is Smith's Minted Rose lip balm, so it would be hard to get me to switch over to something new unless it was similar to that one. But I'm glad others are liking it.

Even though April's bag isn't too much of a win for me personally, I think I've seen enough improvement to give it another go. I really appreciated the lack of excess paper and card stock this month. If next month is a dud, then I'll be canceling for sure.

It's sticky for you? I didn't encounter that at all. Are your lips dry or are they okay? Mine are dry and it's meant for dry lips which is maybe why it's sticky on you because you have normal lips?

Yeah, I suppose my lips are pretty normal, so perhaps I'm not the target consumer for the Lip Quench. It's just a tad too thick if I don't use it sparingly, and I prefer a slicker consistency in my lip balms.

We must be lip twins, lol. I like purlisse enough to use it but I don't love it, find the lip quench unbearably sticky, and I would prefer to always use smith's rosebud salve, which is a much cheaper price than the other two, too.

I was going to do the same, since I've ended up really loving the Lip Quench as well and have a $25 off $50 to use, but they stopped that deal last Friday :(

I have the UD pencil in Ransom! If anyone would like to trade their Perversion with me. :) Please PM ME!

I received my bag - for the UD liner I got Radium and I love it! So easy to apply and creamy.

I don't like the lip quench - too heavy. I like the thin brush. I received the yellow box of false lashes - they are really short. I guess they are to thicken the look of the lashes? These have no appeal for me.

I actually like the LipQuench, but I have so many OTHER lip balms that are its equal...

ETA: Apparently PinkSith says All-Belle is in the middle of a lawsuit because their lashes are NOT, in fact, 100% handmade. Granted, I don't think that we expected that they are/were, but that's not really something that can be just written off as a "figure of speech", IMHO

I got both my Birchbox and my myglam bags today so it almost felt like Christmas. :)

My bag contained...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

All-Belle Orange Queen lashes

Dermastore Lip Quench
the two myglam brushes
UD 24/7 liner in Junkie (so glad it wasn't the hot pink since I can't really wear pinks)
and the bag.

I'm not a big false lash girl, but I'll give everything a try.

My lips are especially dry, so I loved the lip quench and would seriously consider buying it for the $12 listed on the site. I meant I own almost every flavor of EOS and they're not cheap, so why not buy this too? lol. Also, has anyone tried their lashes out yet? Do you likeyyyyyy? smile.gif

I got the UD eyeliner in junkie if anyone would like to trade with me for any other color. I know I will not be using this liner :/

I got the UD in Radium and the lashes in Red Wedding. Used them both today. I loved the liner formula and color. Awesomesauce. The lashes are a different story. I used Duo glue, trimmed them for size and applied. the lashes themselves were great. The thread they are attached to.....not so much. I felt like that thread was kinda rough on my eyes, not as soft as the usual ardell that I use. Definitely felt like thread on my eyes. I did wear them all day and I liked the look, I'm just not a fan of that thread. To each his own though. They may be fabulous for someone else. I gave them a 1 time use label, went to the trash even though they looked good.
