The Look Bag - October 2012 - Page 6

Besides Jane Fonda, another "celebrity curator" on the Look Store is Elizabeth Röhm, who I like and respect. So I tweeted her the general situation, and she asked for more info so I pointed her to Zadi's blog posts and this thread. I did say that for all we know, the sub bag is the only issue with the company, but she thanked me for the heads up. Hopefully their celebrity endorsers like Elizabeth questioning why they're behaving badly in response to what could have been just an honest mistake, and motivate them to clean up their customer service.

In my experience this is how all crackle polishes come out, at least all my julep ones have.

It shouldn't be clumpy on the brush. Not one of my OPI, China Glaze, Sally Hansen or Sinful Colors crackles does that.

Mine came out smooth luckily. I have had a clumpy crackle before though. It was a Sally Hansen polish but I just thinned it out and clumps went away. I am not a big crackle fan anyway, however my daughters think it's really cool. They use my crackles way more than I ever will.

Finally tried the Pixi today, and regardless of whatever, that stuff was worth the price of admission. Definitely something I probably wouldn't have normally tried, but it made it so I could wear my WnW Cherry Bomb without punching something in aggravation! Love.

I totally agree!  It made my OCC lip tars not bleed AT ALL!  I now have an excuse to buy more lip tars!

Did you guys use the primer, liner, or both? I have bleeding issues with my Lip Bomb.

I used the liner only with the lip bomb (#2), because I was worried the primer would negate the stain aspect. It worked great to decrease the feathering of the lip bomb, but of course didn't really help with the longevity. Maybe I will do some mad scientist stuff and try the primer+bomb. I used the primer for the first time today in conjunction with the liner with the WnW matte lipstick and it really held it in place (even after being assaulted by fried rice and beer).

I love the primer balm, it makes for a very smooth lip canvass

Oh my... They're STILL sending out Stila shadows? Please call Stila to find out if it's discontinued much less expired.

Stila's customer care line: 866.784.5201

Both Stila and Freeman Beauty have stated that The Look Bag is not authorized to send out their products. The Bare Foot product is newer item sold on Freeman Beauty so it's not discontinued much less expired. The items over all are pretty good but I'm wary of anything TLB sends out now. Will you call Stila to find out if the shadow is discontinued or expired?

I'm still not sure why you have to be 'authorized' to buy and sell products....

If you get it directly from the manufacturer, it means they are responsible for the age/expiration/quality of the product. If you get it from a second-hand seller, it means they could've purchased it from the seller quite a while ago when they were trying to get rid of it all because it was so cheap, so you don't know if the product is expired or not.

Mostly, working directly with companies usually ensures that the customers are getting safe/not-expired products. That's why there's such a big fuss since the Stilla product TLB sent was expired, and all that nonsense with the Red Carpet Box

Yup, about to do so right now, I'll let you know what they say, tyvm for the info :) call is not going through " due to technical difficulties", but I'll keep on trying :)

When I contacted them again asking about a refund, they did not respond. So, yes, they are refusing refunds after sending out at least one expired product.

Oh that's right... NYC phone lines are still down for some people and companies. Stila maybe one still affected. Email them instead.

just sent the email :)

OMG! they just replied O.O

Here's what they said:

Hi Gabriela,

Thank you for contacting stila cosmetics customer care. We have contacted our sales representatives and they do not have record of this company being a certified retailer. We would suggest you return the product as the expiration date was February 2011.

We hope this new information has been helpful and you have a wonderful day filled with lots of smiles and blushes!

All The Best,

Yes, TLB is including a replacement product in the Nov bag for the accident.

But it's no longer an accident if they're still sending out expired Stila AFTER being notified it's expired.

but doesn't sending a replacement product in november bag assume that everyone who was affected is going to continue to subscribe? it doesn't seem like a fair way to compensate, but that's just my opinion.

Of course, if that is what happened...we don't know when the above bag was received.

Gabi - when did you get your bag?

October 17th, but I'm not complaining :) just saying it was expired

EXACTLY. I unsubscribed, and they will not refund me. Not a good way to handle a problem like this.

They canceled my subscription btw, like THEY did not me...I logged in and it says canceled :)

I guess someone over there is following this thread

by the looks of their facebook, the replaced the stila with the naked princess 4 gloss sample pack thing. so, the person who posted their october photo on look bag's facebook had two lip products (the york balm too)
