Black Friday 2012!!! - Page 9

$29.03 is the total of my Black Friday "haul" lol

I took advantage of the deals that Kiehl's and Bumble & Bumble offered. I also ordered the discounted December Glossybox.

I thought about grabbing some of the items from the Sephora and Ulta sales but decided not to in both cases.

I'm very happy with what I was able to get though! And so is my wallet!

Yes, I am very interested in it since I haven't tried Too Faced before.  I am worried about the value, though.  Is it REALLY $97 worth?  Or will we just get a $18 eyeshadow, a $20 primer, and something else?  I would love to be blown away.

Spending spree--on myself.  Haven't even started shopping for gifts yet.  Birchbox shop 25% off: Boscia BB Cream, 2 Shea Terra body butters.  Sephora: 2 Ole Henriksen sets, Tocca set, ITKIT #1.

Bumble & Bumble and Kiehl's too (I justified these since I'm replenishing items I'm almost out of anyway). And I bought a 2nd Nov Glossybox (since my 1st is a Refinery 29).  

I fully admit it--I am ridiculous.  There is only so much face, body and hair I have to apply products on.  And yet.... 

I've never done any intense 3-AM black friday shopping, but I did drop by the mall at 9 AM. I browsed everywhere but couldn't find anything--probably because I've done most of my gift shopping online. LOL the highlight of my trip was grabbing a pair of super-soft fleece pajamas at Target on the way back :P. 

Though, if I go to the city I know I'd for sure do some major damage--there are two enormous 3-story Forever21's a couple blocks away from each other, and two H&M's :D. I did snag 5 of the Sephora black friday deals online, so I'm content.

If I have money to spend and want to grab new clothes, Forever 21 and H&M are the two stores I go to the most as well! Conveniently, they are neighbors at one of the local malls.

The Kiehls orange flower and lychee body cleanser is the best in this scent! I got to try their deluxe sample from my BB in October and I fell deeply in love!!  I am waiting until it runs out and then I will purchase the full size STAT! 

Just got the email for the Sephora mystery ... they had brands on the bottom and some pictures of brands/samples so maybe those are some of the things we can expect?

It looks like there's a Buxom mascara, a versace perfume, an origins face wash, a NARS ... something...tube, benefit belle bamba. It seems like it might actually be a nice bag, depending on what you get and are looking for

Do you ladies think that the VIB perks have been getting better or worse over the past few years?

I'm $120 away from being Sephora VIB next year.  I know I'll make a purchase when Sephora e-mails us the $15 coupon in December.  I've never been VIB and I'm wondering if it's worth attaining VIB status (though earlier I did serve as an 'enabler' when someone asked if they should spend $80 more to get VIB ).  

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but Tarte.com also just added a bunch of products to their sale section. They have multiple color variations of this assortment for $35 ($197 retail value in product). I have been wanting to pick up a second one of their eyeliner pots so for not much more $$ I got some fun new products to try.

I think it is worth becoming a VIB. From what I remember, VIB's get a $20 gift code, and normal BI's get $15. Also, VIB's get emails about upcoming free gifts with purchase before anyone else, and there are also VIB-only gifts such as the VIB clutch that was offered some time ago. I feel somewhat guilty for spending $350+ at Sephora this year... but maybe it's worth it... or maybe I have a makeup/skincare shopping problem :)

I almost feel like it's not worth it by the end of the year unless you're already super close (I feel like $120 is close). Because it's yearly, you only get it renewed for the coming year rather than if you just dropped $350 on Sephora.com January 1st, you'd suddenly have VIB for the next 24 months. I feel like a more pragmatic way to do that though is to spend $50 increments at Sephora.com once a month starting with January so then you can be at VIB in July -- then you have 18months of VIB. That way you can get a free perk every month, buy something, and still get free shipping.

Those of you with VIB status... Do you find that it is worth it? Do you absolutely love the perks that are available?

I'll be able to afford more luxuries soon (I'm starting a job job on Monday!), and I love to get makeup/skincare items for myself and my mom. I can see myself spending enough to get VIB status if I stick to purchases from Sephora.

lol no don't worry it took me forever to figure it out how it works. You have until December 2013 actually!

So when you obtain VIB the first time, it's good for the calendar year you obtained it (2012) and then one more one year (2013 here). This is so people who are VIBs don't have to put in $350 purchases in January to keep their status. In the following calendar year (2013) if you want to keep your VIB status you have to put in another $350 worth of orders which will give you VIB status for the following year (2014).

So basically if you get VIB right now, unless if you've already put in like $230 worth of orders, it's really not worth it because it'll only be good for December and then the following year you have to spend another $350 to keep VIB. Instead, it'd be much more pragmatic to just grab $350 worth of things in January so it's good for that calendar year you obtain the status (2013) and the following year (2014) or to do it in $50 increments over 7 months so you can have it by July and it'd be good for 18 months. I mean if you have it already then you already do so you enjoy it, but this is just ponderings from someone who's considering putting that much money down to get VIB.

two years ago it was $15 off $40 right? I wonder if it'll stay at $50 this year, or if they'll make it off $60. either way, I hope they keep that glitch on the website where it has no minimum :D.

lol I'd probably still spend my usual amount the rest of the year, so the extra perks wouldn't really be worth the $350 I'd initially drop. I'm about $60 away, so I'm for sure going for it. Yeah black friday was pretty much lackluster usually I get so much stuff but I don't know maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Only thing I purchased was natural hair products for a whopping $50. I think I should make up for it by ordering some stuff now for cyber monday. Where's the best place for me to purchase Wet N Wild and Revlon lipsticks for some MAC dupes on sale? If anyone knows where I can get a pretty decent juicer on sale ( top on my list after stuffing my face with turkey and sweet potato pie ) it would be very much appreciated. That's all I pretty much want for myself.

I still have to get some items for my niece that I just found out about today. One of the toys is called Doc McStuffins and this thing is sold out everywhere. In addition I have to get Doc McStuffins beanbag plush friends and they are sold out as well. Lastly either my brother or I want to get a good pretend play kitchen. It's either between Kid Kraft Espresso Kitchen and Step 2 Kitchen newest edition. The first looks like an actual modern day kitchen with chrome appliances with decorative back splace, but I'm leaning towards the later because it's more interactive with kitchen cooking sounds. I'll also pick up some Disney plush toys as well as a couple Disney collection animator dolls including Brave's Merida, and Aladdin's Jasmine. I was planning on purchasing Sleek makeup cosmetics, but not until they have some sort of a sale. What other cyber monday deals are going on?

Even if you missed the Toys R Us deals, it's possibly worth it to grab this coupon: http://www.groupon.com/deals/dc-gxb-toys-r-us-november $20 for $10. That might offset any purchases you weren't able to make for the low price... now you just gotta figure out if those items are in stock.
