Black Friday 2012!!! - Page 11

I just got an email from Sephora that they cancelled my Black Friday order because one or more items was out of stock!  I am furious!  I stayed up half the night to place that order and none of the stuff is available anymore!

I ordered the Lorac set, the Tokyo Milk set, the Tocca set, the Tarte set, and the Buxom set.  I called and they said that all of the $10 deals sold out pretty early (I ordered at 6am) and the website only updates what is out of stock every 6 hours.  I asked to speak with a manager and he gave me 500 points and free shipping on my next order, but that is not good enough!  Those sets were gifts and now I have to start over.

It does suck that you have to start over, but what kind of compensation are you looking for? It's not like they can do anything about the fact that the items are already out of stock and make them appear from nowhere. While it's definitely upsetting, they apologised and comped you pretty well -- and I'm assuming they issued a refund. What else were you expecting them to do?

You are always good at looking on the bright side of things. I didn't even think of that! I wish I had that sort of easy optimism.

Yeah, I didn't expect them to give me the items, but I was only compensated at all because I asked to speak to a supervisor.  If this is happening to thousands of people (which it is) they need to come up with standardized compensation, so that nice people (that wouldn't demand to speak to a manager) still get something out of all of the hassle.  I am just mad that it took them 5 days to tell me that they cancelled my order.  I could have bought a lot on cyber monday, but held back because of my sephora purchases.  

 

I am a super-hoarder, so I'm sure I will manage with the gifts.  It just sucks.

Yeah, the letting you know so late is kind of annoying, but they probably also didn't have people really working/checking inventory until yesterday. There are still a few places running their Cyber Monday deals... Yves Rocher, Sally Beauty, Origins, Coterie, and MAC all sent me emails telling me to buy things still lol. Good luck!

Got my 2 Black Friday online orders today (which included 2 of the #3 it kits w/no substitutions) as well as my $20 VIB gift card. Now to figure out what to get. God knows I don't need anything else makeup/skin beauty wise but I can't just let this $20 go to waste! :-)

I'm new here but I have been following this tread like crazy since last Thursday (and buying accordingly too!). The first thing I bought was the Burt bees holiday bag - I was all excited at the beginning and then after seeing all the other offers I kind of regretted it and (as Musegirl said) that hold me from buying more from other awesome offers. Anyway, today (like 6 days later) they told me that the package was just shipped but without the holiday bag (I had ordered extra stuff just to get free shipping). I complained and sent them an email immediately. The items arrived today (weird because they said "ground shipping - will take 10-14 days") and the order receipt in the box says nothing about the money (empty spaces). They did not charge my bank account. My husband thinks they will charge me eventually, but I think they sent the little stuff for free because of their holiday bag mishandling. I really hope they do not charge me, because that would make me not hate the company and I will still purchase from them.

You know, I REALLY don't need any more makeup/skin care but I have the same attitude as you lol. Did the $20 card come inside the box of one of your orders? Or was it a separate piece of mail? I'm trying to figure out if it will be in my email inbox or in my snail mailbox.

It was a separate piece of mail. I just happened to get both orders delivered and the VIB card in the mail!! I'm online right now trying to figure out what to get. HA HA!

Actually I'm wondering the same, I got VIB last week and just got an order from Sephora, but the bf said I can't open it cuz it's for xmas :( so Idk if there will be a gift card there! D:

LOL I was just doing the same even though I haven't received my card yet. I know its coming! I already have some items lined up in my basket, but they are all for me... perhaps I should wait because my sister's birthday is in Jan... and I should probably think about what to get her instead of getting myself more lipstick :D

 

Has anyone received their order with the Mystery Sample Bag? I'm dying to know what's inside because I hadn't ordered one.

I'm really tempted to get one of the Naked palettes since I have neither yet and hmmm it would make it FS too... 

Oh that is very unexciting, but I guess it's better than getting no deluxe samples at all. The Naked palette is a good choice!

 

I love the Naked Palette (I have the first one)! The colors are gorgeous and I use it all the time. If you decide to make the purchase, you won't regret it!!!

Haven't gotten my VIB card yet (but didn't go the Post Office today either)...

 

Is it good in stores or only online?  I wonder if I should be good and get my sister a Naked palette...or use it to buy a big Murad eye cream that'll last me awhile?  I already have a pretty sweet goodie bag for her...

The back of the card states it is good in store and online unless you are in Canada.  it says not available with online canadian orders.  Also has a bar code for Sephora inside JCP

I'm getting mine tomorrow and will definitely tell you guys what I get :)

I'm heard really good things about them! I might get the Naked 2 though since I'm cool-toned and I've heard that Stila's In the Light is pretty much a dupe for it, and that's in the BB store, so I might use my points + discount on that ^_^;; Though it might be excessive to have both... considering how much untouched eyeshadow I have right now and am planning on getting in the near future.

 

I also don't know if anyone else has this pattern but -- I'm getting so much sparkly fallout from UD eyeshadows. I got the UD shadow box, and all three of the light colours in it -- Grind, Uzi, and Midnight Cowboy make my eyes have randomly large amounts of glitter that I feel like you can see standing 5 feet away. It's super annoying because I really like the formulas otherwise, it i feel like it makes it not as work friendly for me. ):

I don't think this has happened to me.. or not that I've noticed. Do you use the UD shadow primer?

Yep -- it happens to me when I use the shadow primer, when I use too faced's primer, and when I use no primer. I'm also medium, so I feel like the sparkliness might also show up on me more. But I feel like I spend the whole day wiping up bits of glitter from around my eye. 

 

There's one shadow I've used by UD that is glittery and has fallout. Luckily, I don't use it often but I remember experiencing what you do.

 

Sadly, I've also noticed that theBalm's Meet Matte eyeshadow that I got in my Ipsy bag this month has a bit of fallout (even with primer). Whyyyyy?! It's such a pretty shade. Womp womp. =(
